NCAA Women's & Men's Academic Rating

Re: NCAA Women's & Men's Academic Rating

Person A has 16 ounces of gold, and person B has 16 ounces of aluminum.

Both have a pound of metal, but I'm thinking one of the two is slightly better off.

Person A and Person B take their pound each of metal and turn it into something equally as valuable. What you take out of an education is dependent on what you put into it, and excelling in any class room in any discipline shows grad schools and prospective employers that you are motivated and capable.

I went to one of the most prestigious prep schools in the country, and then to a state school, where I was able to study the field I was passionate about, while being challenged every day in the classroom. When I finished, I was not only prepared to work in my field, but also to overcome adversity and think outside the box. I'm not saying that the name brand schools don't offer an advantage in some situations (the "old boy network"), but my first management position was working for a BC grad, and he never once suggested that I was ill - prepared or somehow inferior. Quite the opposite in fact.

As an aside - he was (is) a huge BC hockey fan, and we had some spirited wagers during the season when it came time for UNH - BC showdowns!

That is false.
5 guys sitting at a bar. How can you tell the one that went to BC?????????????

Don't worry he'll tell you.
D@mn right! Good luck getting someone to admit they went to UConn though.

And DC you went to UNH, that's totally different. It's no BC but at least it's a real school.

Re: NCAA Women's & Men's Academic Rating

My my, we DO like to cherry pick stats, don't we?

Let's be real here, a 4.0 at a school like UConn is not even in the same stratosphere as a 4.0 at a school like BC.

Yes it is. A 4.0 at any school shows great academic commitment. Why would you try to downplay these ladies achievements? A 4.0 student at a mediocre university is still an excellent student and would find academic success anywhere they went.

Yeah but they're still "great students" relative to the other students at a mediocre university. You're basically just restating my point in a nicer way. They aren't stupid, they just didn't quite get the same caliber of an education as you can at an elite institution like BC.

I mean, it's not like you're going to find UConn grads panhandling after the game. That's what you typically see out of BU grads, who would be better off using their degree to help start a warming trash can fire in an alley on a cold winter's night than using it to find a job.

lol BC is a good school but to call it an "elite institution" is a stretch. We're talking about a school that is a popular safety for kids looking at top 20 universities/top 10 LAC. You're obviously proud of where you went to school, but its maybe a notch above UConn, if that.

Hahahaha. You guys like to define your own reality huh? 26 vs. 205 is one hell of a 'notch'.

Some pretty impressive schools you guys are behind. "Grove City College"? Is that place even accredited?
Some adult nerdy loser from the pocket protector crowd at BC who wears a game jersey (Dude you stop that in junior high) grows some nuts on the Internet. No wonder BC alums are so hated. Good luck raising the next generation of nerdy kids. You are over qualified for that.. Notre Dame is the REAL catholic college.

Re: NCAA Women's & Men's Academic Rating

Back to the subject at hand....

ECAC academic list came out today. Brown led the charge with 19 players on the list. What is remarkable about that is that only 3 or 4 years ago Brown was the school with the lower number on this list.

Special congrats to the following Seniors who made the list for all four years.

Jessica Gagner - Dartmouth
Sally Komarek - Dartmouth

Laura Bellamy - Harvard

Good luck raising the next generation of nerdy kids.

Man this post has everything, huh? An impressive bit of attempted trolling.
