NCAA West Regional - 3/25, 3/26 - BC, Michigan, UNO, CC

Re: NCAA West Regional - 3/25, 3/26 - BC, Michigan, UNO, CC

I think we can all agree the best part of BC being eliminated is no one has to be subjected to their band for the rest of the tournament.

No, the best part about BC being eliminated is... BC was... eliminated.

Re: NCAA West Regional - 3/25, 3/26 - BC, Michigan, UNO, CC

Wow, you are dense. UM = Michigan. Who won on a botched call. And UMICH is your user name. Go to bed, son, it's about 3 hours past your bedtime.

Gee tough guy, he was saying that he was right because he went to uno and that others were wrong merely because they are UM fans (hinting at saying they didn't actually go there).

Where's Minnesota playing?

Wow...what a great first set of games. I'm 0 for 4 on my picks...gotta love college hockey!

Re: NCAA West Regional - 3/25, 3/26 - BC, Michigan, UNO, CC

After pulling up the replay on ESPN3 and being able to watch it over and over, the long angle view looks looks far more convincing than I originally thought. You see puck, you see white, you see the goal line. Yes, it's a long angle shot, but it's not like the puck was in the air. A photographer's flash went off in the middle of that sequence, so hopefully a nice picture will turn up in the next day or two.

And unless Hudson has x-ray vision and can see through goalie pads, he was not in "perfect position" to tell if the puck crossed the goal line.

Thank you! That's what I have been saying all along! Now can I get all of those negative reputation points that I received taken away?

I'm not sure what you are talking about here. Assuming I am understanding you correctly, please do not denigrate the U of M name by saying it refers to the U (University of Minnesota). The University of Michigan has a wordmark for U of M that is trademarked (I've never heard of ANY other school having this...). Also, I believe that the University of Michigan is the first school in the country that could have the name U of M.

Sorry, Sparky. Being right and being an idiot aren't mutually exclusive.

Admittedly a bit Zapruder-esque, but in lieu of a higher-resolution image, that there looks like a goal to me. As much fun as it is for the non-Michigan folks to jump on the no-goal bandwagon, sorry folks. Right call was made.

Comprehension: you don't have it. He was saying that if you went to U of Michigan (UM is U of MN, thank you tArrogance) you have a natural bias for calls that are controversial. And tough guy? I call a spade a spade, and you, sir, are a moron. I didn't give two craps about who won that game. But I want a fair shake for both teams. UNO didn't get a fair shake. It was a bad call in the end.

Sorry, Sparky. Being right and being an idiot aren't mutually exclusive.

Fact is I received negative reputation points for saying it was conclusive from down ice. The fact that I was right all along means that those points should be dissolved from my reputation. Or is uscho a dictatorship?

It feels good to be vindicated...

I completely agree. (referencing someone's earlier post...) The Vermont (through the net goal) took 12 minutes to review, does that mean it wasn't a goal? I never saw that goal get scored but it clearly was a goal based upon basic physics.

The Michigan goal can at least be seen and the added overhead shot helps support this. Hudson couldn't see the puck underneath the pads like the camera angle from the blue line. Is the shot blurry? Yes. Is the call questionable? I would say yes. Was the right call made? I would still say yes. Does it suck that the game ended this way? Hell yes!

In the end, all that matters is UNO played a good game and it REALLY SUCKS that they had to lose on such a $h!tty goal. I really hate it when tournament games get decided on crappy goals and hate it even more when they come down to a call made by the refs. I look forward to UNO giving the WCHA a run for their money in future seasons.

BTW, if this were college football or the NFL, I think this call still would have been a goal but it would have taken 20 minutes to decide... However without the camera angle from the blue line (which the refs had, you could see them watching it), I think this would DEFINITELY not have been called a goal. It is only due to that camera angle that I think they were able to make the call.

It will be soon enough when it changes over to BTcho.com.

Also - it's rare that people get undeserved negative rep. You had (have) it coming.

Actually, most of us "Wiscy (?)" fans LOVE Brent.

I said this on the game thread but I'll throw it out here too...

In defense of BC's band almost any pep band would sound like that when you mic it that close. Pep band are not made up of high calibre players and you'll notice that in general for tournaments like the NCAA basketball tournament you hear a more distant sound. I'm not saying the BC pep band was representing with a great sound tonight but they weren't given a very advantageous setup either.

Wow, you really have an obsession with the Gophers, don't you? Take a number, you'll end up behind UND and WI in that line. Maybe tUMD, too. Why does it matter where the Gophers are playing right now? They have nothing to do with the refs making a bad call.

The on-ice call was made. No goal. Per the rulebook, conclusive evidence, not common sense, not probability, can overturn the call. Zero conclusive evidence was presented, on any replay, IMO.

Would MI have won the game anyway? I don't know. Would UNO have won? I don't know. Unfortunately, the refs wrongly made that decision.

Are you looking at these pictures with your heart or your eyes?

Bottom line, the consensus opinion, even among UNO haters here, Michiganders excluded, is that the referees must have been sniffing glue. There are even UM posters who've said it was a bad call!

Was there really a band there. I assumed it was crappy recorded music.
