NCAA SF Threads - Point to me where Amherst! Will Trinity be Blessed? RIT's fault!

Re: NCAA SF Threads - Point to me where Amherst! Will Trinity be Blessed? RIT's fau

What a third period by point. The year of waived goals....

That was a good two periods of hockey though

Congrats to Trinity and Point,it's a shame Kash isn't with us anymore to see his beloved Trinity play for the National Title.

Congratulations to your team, they played fantastic today about deservedly beat IMO the best team in the country. You have a right to celebrate.

Now, I know as well as you that Remy can be a bit overly opinionated, and he certainly never hesitates to speak his mind. But was this really necessary? Rather than celebrate your team's victory, you would rather call out somebody on an online message board? I know 5 year olds who are more respectful in victory than you are being.

Do I think that Trinity is better than Plattsburgh? No. But they beat Plattsburgh in the one game that mattered, period. Do I think Trinity is better than Adrian? Well, considering I just referred to Adrian as the best team in the country, obviously not. But again, Trinity played a great game and earned the win. What Remy was trying to say - in his own way - was that the Plattsburgh-Trinity game was much closer than the scoreline showed, and I have to agree with him there. I'm not saying that Trinity didn't earn either of these wins - that is CLEARLY not the case - and I don't believe Remy was, either.

TL;DR - You're being a lousy winner right now. Grow up and go celebrate your team being in the National Championship game.

You and PSUC ought to be more respectful in "defeat"- not that you nor she have anything to do with the results of any game. None of us ar either winners or losers by dint of what our favorite teams do, and you two really need to figure that much out. A big indication of "growing-up" is being capable of making that distinction.

And, NEWS-FLASH: Platty is irrelevant now. Why are you two still being defensive and rationalizing? It's really, really tiresome. Time to move on to what's still pertinent, don't you think?

(On that note, while I'm rooting for Trinity, I would have to guess that Point takes the hardware home in a close one tomorrow.)

Once Point got rolling , they were unstoppable. S/B a good one tomorrow night..

Trinity...did not see that coming. Bring the hardware back East!

I find myself cheering for Trinity but I expect Point to win. I saw that they became the third DIII Men's basketball program to win 4 titles, and the other two were UW schools. Last year UW Whitewhater swept the national titles in football, basketball, and baseball. So it becomes evident to me that the UW system has figured out something on winning titles.

It's called recruiting the best athletes.

+2. Also, be really cool to see the defending national champions at next year's Northfield Savings Bank Holiday Tournament.

+1 Why couldn't Amherst have wilted like that a week ago?

+1 That's seems a likely result.

That was quite a display by Point in the 3rd period. I knew they were a good team, but that's one of the most explosive periods I've seen by anyone in quite a while. Amherst is one of the best defensive teams in the nation. The score could've actually been much worse. I am also surprised at Trinity's effort. I guess they are for real. After watching their game vs. Plattsburgh, I didn't give them much of a shot against the Bulldogs. This is why they play the games!!

!

I didn't get to see the blocked shot total for Trinity but the d3hockey.com crew were saying how they were impressed with the amount of bodies in front of shots. IMO that is much more of a "tip of the cap" then scoring 5 goals. Since Day 1 everyone (most) were giving Trinity no chance. Most people it was the "first round upset". I think the gritty play has a few more going "hmmmm? Maybe!" heading into tonight.

I'd have to look in to it but OSU and UWEC were the only two teams to win the title after not winning their league. We are now guaranteed another. Looks like the committee got that part right.
