NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

Re: NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

anyone have a working link to the live stream?

no clue how the game's going, but apparently OU football spring practice is going well.

Re: NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

thanks, but tried that, still getting OU spring football practice. :(

That's the link I've been using, and it's SLU/BC, no mention of OU. Some sort of caching issue?

Even game so far, except for the one shorthanded sequence, where too many Saints were trying to play the puck rather than picking up sticks in front. Hate to lose on a goal like that where SLU had so many chances to clear the puck or get a cover.

Re: NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

I had to refresh about four times to get past the football before the hockey game miraculously appeared.

Poor video quality and nice hum to go along with the audio but here you go... (the commentators have said "on NCAA.com" but I can't find it there)...

Go down to middle of page on left side there are 3 vertical boxes...middle box just above "game tracker" there is a "watch" button in nano type...

Re: NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

...and now back to our regularly scheduled NCAA promo.

Re: NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

Still half a game left but could this be the inverse of last year's NCAA Quarter Final for BC...ie: several goals against in rapid succession?

Re: NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

Sorry to see SLU bow out after a great second half of the year.

Congrats to BC for making it to the final four two years in a row. Would have never predicted that at the start of the year.

Re: NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

Bad day at the office for McDonald...to my surprise she appeared quite slow reacting to puck movement and getting up. Nice gloved shot, sans glove, though...that was unique...don't recall ever seeing that before! Ref was clued out.

BC seemed able to keep SLU forwards to the outside for the second half of the game. Two weird/(flukey?) goals and an empty netter were the difference in the score.

Carpenter is dangerous. Fast game.

Re: NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

Will have more in a bit but shout out to the drunk SLU parent who assaulted me and breathed alcohol in my face. You're a winner.

Re: NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

Serious question -- who was the SLU player who got lit up by (I think) Walsh in the 1st period?

Re: NCAA Quarterfinals: St. Lawrence @ Boston College

I got an email regarding my post and seeing as how if there's one person thinking something, there's usually others, I'm going to go into a bit of detail.

In the first period, and BC player and an SLU player collided. First, that was not an illegal hit. BC got a penalty, yes, but it was incidental contact. The BC player turned around right into where the SLU was coming from, and kept her balance. At least, that's how I saw it through my maroon & gold glasses. But let's assume for a minute that it was NOT incidental contact. That was a SPECTACULAR hockey hit. Just because the hit is not allowed in women's hockey does not mean I can't appreciate a good hit. I am so tired of the hockey sexism that suggests that girls are too fragile to take a hit. It's nonsense and it's demeaning to the players. Apparently the issue is that the player for SLU has a history of concussions and the parent was possibly going over the top because of that. Listen, whoever it was that took the hit, she was not going to get a concussion from it. It was body to body, clean as they come, and was a thing of beauty. So, I stand by my "That was so worth it!" comment during the game. I half-cheered when I saw the hit, stopped when I saw the SLU player was down, and then continued when she got up and it was clear she was fine. I liked the hit.

Second, I don't have a problem with a dad wanting to defend his daughter. What I *do* have a problem with is a dad who embarrasses his daughter by drinking himself to oblivion before 1pm on the day of the biggest hockey game of her career, then going up to an opposing fan, and physically assaulting that fan. Whether or not he appreciated my comment is irrelevant. He, as well as the 6-10 other SLU (adult) fans who felt the need to sit a few rows away from us and harass us the rest of the game, embarrassed SLU and their fellow fans, who were otherwise among the best, loudest, and most supportive fans I've ever encountered in my 6 years following this sport.

And that's my piece on the matter.

Now, with regards to the game/outcome:

With regard to the SLU fans that harassed us for 40 minutes: Suck on that. Enjoy golfing.
