NCAA Quarterfinal: UW Hosts BU

Re: NCAA Quarterfinal: UW Hosts BU

Wisconsin is skating well, where BU hasn't woken up yet....they better soon or bye bye!

Re: NCAA Quarterfinal: UW Hosts BU

Substantially better game so far (after one) than the CU - BC game which was approaching yawner status I thought.

Very fast, lots of energy on both sides.

Pankowski is on fire.

Re: NCAA Quarterfinal: UW Hosts BU

If you're so inclined, I'm livetweeting @nicolehaase as is Boston Herald reporter Kat Hasenauer @sportsgirlkat. I've got some pics I'm posting as we go.

Re: NCAA Quarterfinal: UW Hosts BU

Pankowski with another goal, followed by one from Clark. UW up 4-0 after 2, and starts the 3rd with a minute left on a PP.

Re: NCAA Quarterfinal: UW Hosts BU

Honestly BU was underwhelming. This team just beat vaunted BC? Some mid-pack WCHA teams were harder to beat than BU (so was Clarkson). Maybe BU just didn't have it today, but what I saw just reinforces the cupcake perception of eastern hockey. Now UW has to get through the rodents to get at another cupcake, but hey, after some meaty rodent stew a sweet treat would be tasty.

Be careful what you wish for.

Re: NCAA Quarterfinal: UW Hosts BU

As I wrote at the top TimA, BU was Not the team that out skated BC....all due respect to UW, but no where near the in-your-face, stick play, jump in their skates game that they played last week....now the Badgers had much more moxie than BC did so give them their due.....
Trying to remember back toThanksgiving when UW visited the Whitt, even given that they were playing a rebuilding UNH, UW didn't impress like they did today.....I guess it's another example of 2nd semester growth of a team.

Just remember that in our last game, Harvard's fourth line outscored BU's entire team, 3-2. Gee, have I mentioned that before?

Re: NCAA Quarterfinal: UW Hosts BU

That was a wonderful game! Fun crowd, good all-around game, some great saves from ARD and outstanding offense...pretty awesome.

Wisconsin beat New Hampshire 5-0 and 5-0 in November, outshot them 38-16 and 49-16. What more were you expecting?

Except for the late BU goal, pretty much the same result today as those NH games (albeit NH was on the road while BU was at home).
