Bill Provencher was a magnificent goaltender for Bowdoin. Didn't he grow up in Brunswick (where Bowdoin is located)?

Unfortunately for the Polar Bears both Jeff Fanning and Kyle Hanson will be out tonight. Fanning is the leading goal scorer for Bowdoin and is suspended for this game for a questionable game misconduct call in the NESCAC final. (questionable game misconduct, not questionable call). Hanson, probably our best stay at home defenseman is out with an ankle injury suffered in the NESCAC semis.

What to look for from Bowdoin:
They run a 2F 3D system allowing the defense to roam while still keeping 2 back. Penalties have been an issue for them all year, especially in the NESCAC final. They tend to apply pressure in long spurts but then give up odd man breaks the other way and have depended on a strong year from Chris Rossi who suffered his first loss of the season against Midd. Kyle Shearer-Hardy is definitely our best skater. He is a small defenseman but can handle the puck and put it in the net.

I am very much looking forward to this game and hope the Polar Bears can shock the Laker faithful!

Bummer on both points. I thought suspension for the next game was only required for a "game disqualification." And Hanson's steadiness will be missed . .

game dq is automatic for spearing... nothing questionable about it... he blatantly speared the guy... ref had no choice but to call it... what the ref missed was the but end of the middlebury player's stick up under his facemask right before it...

they announced the penalty as a game dq over the pa during the game... box score is wrong on the bowdoin site

Three cameras up top for the action (3)... two cameras in either corner on the floor (5)... a cross shot camera in the aux press box (6)... two extra cameras for in-game (8)... and the camera fixed on the scoreboard for the clock (9)

The "Townies" did themselves proud - great crowd and lots of noise, over 2,300 in attendance. Game was terrific, I was really surprised at how much better Oswego was, Bowdoin had no answer against the Lakers team speed and Musselwhite was unstoppable! Amazing second period, by my count after fifteen minutes Bowdoin had TWO shots while Oswego was blowing the game wide open. Best game I have seen them play at the CC against a ranked team.

"Best game I have seen them play at the CC against a ranked team.":confused: 9-2 doesn't make for a great game - 3-2 in OT, now that is a great game :cool:

Actually 3-2 in OT means that that Plattsburgh is just barely capable of winning against a good team where the Lakers can blow them out.:D
