And that North Dakota team actually played somewhat well for the first 10 minutes.
Hopefully Denver can stem the tide and start to chip away. 3 goals isn't impossible...but they are going to have to do a complete 180 to have a shot.

So obviously, one expects that the #2 team in the country will show up to play in the national tournament, so it's not like they're playing a nobody, but do you reckon this is the worst period of the season?

Oh, I think we should expand our frame of reference here. Limiting this exhibition of "hockey" to just this season doesn't do it justice.

Let's take it a step at a time: stop BC from teeing off like they're at a swat range, then perhaps take some shots in the offensive zone, then maybe, just maybe, one or two of 'em might trickle in.

Okay, okay. It's not looking good right now for the Pios. When the second inning starts they need to go for the onside kick, recover it, call timeout and then invoke the Mercy Rule. It just might work and the only people in the building who'll be expecting it are the ones heavily liquored up between periods. Okay, let's go!!

When BC's first line is on the ice, it looks like men vs. boys.
I bet DU plays better than this the rest of the way, but, whether they have the horses to turn this around......................

Remember, you can free kick after a fair catch. Just keep that in mind.
Naturally, DU gets smoked in the first period and poor Daniel Doremus gets to go on national TV and explain "what we're gonna have to do" from here on out to stem the tide. He looked like shell shocked GIs on Corregidor.
