NCAA Hockey - 2023/24 **Insert Witty Tagline**

Ok, I need to preface this with, it only applies to Maine fans on reddit. No one here.

Lots of whining about being the 1 seed playing a 4 seed near or at home, due to ncaa rules. It does suck - most teams have had it at some point.

But I can't get over the irony of a small HE school coach and fans being upset about it, when they are the very coaches who admittedly don't want the format to change because they'd lose the advantage they have over the west. Another disclaimer: I don't know what the current Maine coach personally thinks, it's just funny to hear fans (on reddit) that push the format until it inconveniences them once

Clearly Maine has been way overrated and PSU is just a much better team than Maine.
Interesting that Minnie wasn't overrated when they lost to a better Umass. All I read was it was all about the refs. Maine clearly was over matched, it had nothing to do with location or refs or etc. Maine lacks any kind of offensive fire power and they score by committee, when it don't click they aren't good.

Also, like, I don't ever want to hear an east coast team whine about how far a regional is when it's in the northeast. I'm glad to have st Thomas and augustana come in and hopefully offer additional bids for regionals. Maybe we can finally get back to a more fair two west, two east split.

I mean, I kinda expected them to be dangerous. They've been the best team in the conference and one of the best in the country over the last month.
I am a Boston College fan (there, I said it), but a lot of HE games are on NESN which YouTube TV doesn't carry so I get my college hockey fix on the Big Ten Network. PSU was def the hottest team the last month and no way would anyone have predicted Minn and Mich St would have been bounced in the first game. If BC doesn't win it all, and they have their kryptonite playing Denver tomorrow, I hope Penn St wins it all.

"Let the players decide the game" is supposed to mean that you let the marginal, "ticky-tack" calls go. Tripping a guy or throwing an elbow when you're battling for the puck in the corner, etc. Now, if you're going to use Pronger Physics and elbow a guy in the head, or if your tripping infraction prevented a good odd-man rush opportunity, that obviously needs to be called.
I'm with you. But once you let the genie out of the bottle...
