Time for the boys to kick it into a higher gear. Chevy saved their bacon a few times. The RIT goalie also came up with a couple of point blank saves. DU just needs to get their first goal and get things rolling.

Denver caught Techitis, it is quite common and contagious. It always manifests itself in its host shortly after playing hockey against Michigan Tech. Symptoms include, well there is only one, you play hockey like Michigan Tech. Prognosis is grim, there is a chance to snap out of it, but in most cases your hockey season ends up dead.

It's Shegos and Wilkins. You can get away with murder... unless you bump into the back of a skater mid-ice. Then it's a Checking-From-Behind 5 minute major and a game DQ.

I thought after Cheverie made a couple of big saves on some odd man rushes halfway through the period DU started to get their legs under them. Not much in the way of great scoring chances, but certainly a lot more puck possession and control in the RIT zone.

There have probably been 10 games this year where teams thought they had DU on the ropes and Cheverie has come through with big saves on a breakaway, penalty kill, etc..., only to see DU then come back to take control of the game.

Knock Melrose all you want but he was absolutely correct that when you're an underdog like RIT is in this game, you need to capitalize on your great scoring chances, and RIT missed a few in that period.

The only cure is to give money and high quality recruits to Michigan Tech, that way the WCHA will no longer have to deal with this deadly disease. Overall, the league will be much better off.

calling them an underdog is one thing... calling them not talented enough and all but saying they should have stayed in the locker room is another... particularly in light of the way the first period was going... that was my only issue with him...
