NCAA D-III Championship @ Ridder - Going for the Dunning Double..Roll Call!!

Re: NCAA D-III Championship @ Ridder - Going for the Dunning Double..Roll Call!!

anyone know if the championship game will be televised? what channel?

Re: NCAA D-III Championship @ Ridder - Going for the Dunning Double..Roll Call!!

Hey who is the #1 seed in the tournament?

I thought it was Oswego, but according to our good friends @ collegehockeystats, it's St. Norbert.

Norwich vs Adrian
Norwich vs Oswego
Adrian vs St. Norbert
Oswego vs St. Norbert

Seems like Oswego would be though...they do have the early semi advantage. More rest before the final (if they win) and they get to watch their (potential) championship opponent.

For those attending, and for those watching from home, another powerhouse edition of Frozen Four game notes has been dispensed by St. Norbert SNC Dan Lukes. It was posted last week in the SNC thread, but in case you haven't seen it...the bar has been set:

Wow, that's a lot of information. It will be difficult to top that. Very impressive!

Not even going to attempt to top it.

Some of us had two hockey teams in two different "Frozen Fours" as Mr. Lukas put it. :)

That's a VERY impressive document. The author deserves a seriously loud round of applause. :D

I did see one thing that might help our cadets, however: "St. Norbert is 18-1 this season when scoring first, and is 5-3-1 when it does not."

Looks like it should be an all-out war for first blood in this one although Norwich has had some absolutely breath-taking come-from-behind games that left me exhausted. What does all of that mean? Probably nuthin'!

Well, these two teams left me gasping for air last year at Lake Placid. Will they do it again? (I hope so.) :)

Very excited to say I will be there for the Adrian games.
Not sure where I am sitting.

(Yes, I did say game's')

Some of us don't have three full-time people plus an intern in our office, either.

I also fixed your post...

There is no overall seeding at all. I believe SNC would have last change/home jerseys for the semis and the finals since they're ranked #1 in the west and the tournament is out here.

Basically higher regional ranking is the "home" team, and if there's a tie it would go to the western team. That's my understanding of it at least.

That is correct. That's why Adrian got to host Elmira -- because of that rule.

Had almost 10" of snow overnite in Titletown...

Re: NCAA D-III Championship @ Ridder - Going for the Dunning Double..Roll Call!!

it's supposed to taper off and end by 4pm. Still going to be 6+ inches (or 10+ up north) though. Ah spring ;)

It tracked south. Not too much north of here. Up to 10" so I have heard, though that means 6".

Now get back to work.

Re: NCAA D-III Championship @ Ridder - Going for the Dunning Double..Roll Call!!

I'm in, gotta love business travel (once in a awhile)

Needing local knowledge on Minneapolis, but first tickets---OSU or U of M ticket office? Lakers fans are in Section 12 for both games?

Also local expertise in:

Beverage-A place where the worst beer will be a Guinness (like a World of Beer?)SteakHouse- Traditional or upscale chain. (even a Mortons will vary city by city)Entertainment- A place to celebrate or drown our sorrows; pole gymnastics.

Much obliged.

Stub an Herbs at the U has a good beer selection, but, go to town hall brewing. They make their own and it is fabulous. The Mama Masala IPA is the very best I've had. SteakHouse-Manny's DT MPLS is excellent, not terribly cheap but excellent!

Re: NCAA D-III Championship @ Ridder - Going for the Dunning Double..Roll Call!!

Have a ticket here to scalp, if anyone has a desire for an extra seat in Section 12. Sell at cost, no biggie. Row 5, Seat 16 or 19. Get back at me if ya want it.

Re: NCAA D-III Championship @ Ridder - Going for the Dunning Double..Roll Call!!

Honored to be cheering with you in the future!

MJBeck, sounds like we've got ourselves a fan unit in 12:cool:. OZFEST will be nearby too, by the sounds of it.

Thanks for the tips joecct - I am sorry that you couldn't make it.

Now we need to find a place for pre-game analysis (ie: beer).

Anyone got a recommendation?

Re: NCAA D-III Championship @ Ridder - Going for the Dunning Double..Roll Call!!

We'll see all the USCHO posters at the games Friday and Saturday, at least one Devil's Advocate will be there to see some good hockey
