NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Hmmm. According to the lineup, ESPN is airing "World Cup Primetime" from 8-10pm. ESPN2 is supposed to air the MLL (Lacrosse) All-Star game.

I wonder which one will get bumped.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

I hope where ever Bosh goes he doesn't ever win anything.

It's clearly more about location and money, then winning with him. I know this because he is trying to force Toronto to do a sign and trade with a team that has nothing they want, just so he can get a 6th year/$30 mil extra in money.

Toronto would happily do the trade with the Cavs, and LeBron would stay in that case, but Bosh doesn't want to be in Cleveland.

Umm who cares what city it is if you have a championship caliber team around you?

Clearly, the World Cup Primetime. You can't bump Lacrosse, especially for soccer or college hockey.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Sources: Bosh and Wade to the Heat.
Sources: LeBron to announce his decision Thursday with hour-long special on ESPN.
I love that an ESPN reporter, on ESPN, has to quote anonymous sources about programming on ESPN.

Sources: Sun will rise in west tomorrow.

I love how all those reports come from the same guy, as well.

Listening to the radio during my lunch: the local lunch hour show is TICKED with ESPN about this whole thing (this is on an ESPN Radio affiliate, mind you).

One of the radio personalities mentioned turning on ESPN NEWS after hearing about the fan falling from the upper deck at Texas yesterday. After a half hour plus, the only breaking news was... to let people know about the ESPN live one hour whatever thing for King James.

The whole thing was sketchy enough as it was, with the wall-to-wall LeBron discussion taking up 60% of airtime on ESPN. Suddenly, their "breaking news" is really a promo for a ONE HOUR live presser tomorrow? And it just so happens to be an exclusive promo on ESPN? A few hours after the Wade/Bosh news breaks, they're on live with Mike Wilbon? These probably aren't coincidences.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Someone spread a rumor that Brett Favre is marrying KobeJesus and Tiger's ex will be officiating the ceremony... at the World Series of Poker.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Kevin Durant signed a 5-year extension and took less than max so the team would be able to sign other players.

Chris Bosh called him a sucker :p

Oh, and tomorrow's big event is scheduled for the Boys and Girls Club in Greenwich, CT. So if he's leaving Cleveland, he won't have to be worried about being chased to the airport....

Ray Allen has reportedly signed with the Celtics for two more years.

Drew Magary of Deadspin has an opinion about LeBron James.

It doesn't matter where he opts to go. If he goes to Chicago, he's a c-cksucker. If he goes to Miami, he's a goddam c-cksucker. Even if he goes back to Cleveland, he's a goddam c-cksucker. He's a self-aggrandizing sack of sh-t, and ESPN is a bunch of püssy-whipped enablers for giving him a free hour of airtime tomorrow night and inevitably using 55 minutes of it to let Stu Scott give him a rimjob.

Look at what Kevin Durant did today He signed an extension well before he could have filed for free agency, announced the signing, and then went back about his business. He didn't need all this dog-and-pony show bullsh-t. James does, and that means he's a dipsh-t. People have been kissing this man's arse SINCE F-CKING MIDDLE SCHOOL, and he still needs this hourlong AFI tribute special? Bullsh-t. BULLSH-T.

Drew Magary is my new literary God.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Brett Favre should bust in at 9:12 and say, "I'm a gonna let you finish but I'm coming back."

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Brett Favre as Kanye. Hilarious.

If that press conference is in a place with any level of public access, I'm demanding that people show up with vuvuzelas.

And after Lebron announces he's signing with the Heat, the Cavs fans in attendance beat him to death with the vuvuzelas.

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

6 OT game to push Lebron's presser back?

ESPN's tiny heads would explode.

Their priorities are:
1. Poker
2. KobeJesus/LeBron
3. not hockey
4. 6 OT Lacrosse extravaganzas!!!11!!!!!

Re: NBA 2009-2010: More ref complaints

Yeah, I saw a thing in the paper this morning about the hour-long Very Special Episode Of "Stuart Scott Fellates Professional Basketball Players" and that was pretty much my attitude too. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's absurd.
