Navigating the Lakes - Oswego State Postseason 2010 Thread

Re: Navigating the Lakes - Oswego State Postseason 2010 Thread

So does anyone know how ticket sales work for Saturday? Will the CC box office sell them or will they have to be purchased online?

Should be same as always with the CC box office selling them.

Re: Navigating the Lakes - Oswego State Postseason 2010 Thread

Same as always for the weekend - start Monday with the students? Or is that too early with the selections just being made...

Well the question will be how many students will even be able to make it... spring break starts after classes end Friday. Personally I'm going home and coming back up to call the game Saturday but I only live an hour away. Unfortunately, we might not get a huge crowd. :(

Yeah, looking back at the Norwich clips, it didn't look like a great turnout then even - with the break this time...well, any fans that do show up better yell like heck, right  ?

2000 tops.

Crowds will be similiar to the Pathfinder crowds.

I'd guess 1700-1800.

Re: Navigating the Lakes - Oswego State Postseason 2010 Thread

Anyone recognize the gentleman in here that called Bowdoin his alma mater (serving as a professor in multiple subjects and as the school president and governor of Maine)?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYDhAmjmxYk

Sorry, but I had to - heard that Bowdoin is coming to town and this movie comes to mind immediately (history geek moment:rolleyes: ). Hope it'll be a fine match.

One to Placid, Oswego - beat the Polar Bears, and the Laker Express thunders eastward.
...and won the Medal of Honor (for the charge depicted in your clip), and was selected to preside over the Confederate surrender, AND did all of his great postwar works (Bowdoin president, governor) in constant pain from a war wound that was supposed to kill him on the battlefield, and eventually did...50 years later. Yeah, Chamberlain was an absolutely remarkable guy (sorry to stray OT, I'm just a fan as well :) ).

He was quite the class act for the Rebel surrender - he's got to be one of the most storied men in military history: to go from a professor knowing next to jack about military tactics initially, to becoming a Major General by war's end...amazing. Bowdoin must be proud to have a figure like him in their school's history.

Prez,
Spring break begins this coming weekend? Also, any idea how the ticket sales will be handled for Lake Placid assuming Oswego wins Saturday? I can do a work/hockey weekend up there if I had access to tickets. WIll each school be given a certain allottment? Thank you.

Re: Navigating the Lakes - Oswego State Postseason 2010 Thread

Lots of tickets available, just call the Box Office in Lake Placid.

I went to a wedding at the Chapel on the Bowdin campus about six years ago.

FWIW, that number is 518-523-3330. Open M-F 8:30-5, Sat 9-5.

Tickets.com is allegedly selling them as well, but I can't find them anywhere on their site. They've got DI tix, but that's about all I can see.

EDIT: Tix to this weekend's Oz game are on sale to season ticket holders / students today (Mon) and tomorrow; they go on sale to the public Wednesday at the Laker Hall box office.

I assume you mean the CC box office...

Spring Break does indeed begin on Friday this coming weekend so most of the students will be flying the coup.

If you're refering to tickets out of Oswego's allotment, those might be tough to get. I believe the NCAA mandates 150-200 tickets being sent to each school but I'm sure most of them will be scooped up by parents, player friends, school officials, and booster club members.

The Herb Brooks Arena seats 7,500 or something like that so you will have no issue calling up and getting tickets on Sunday night/Monday morning (if Oswego wins) to get tickets. I can't guarantee where the seats will be but I bet you could still get center ice at this point right now.

Optimal attedance would be these four I would guess:

Norwich, Plattsburgh, Oswego, St. Norbert.

Take out Oswego and insert Elmira though and that was the 2008 participating teams and they still only got to 4500 i think.

Re: Navigating the Lakes - Oswego State Postseason 2010 Thread

Plenty of great seats in Lake Placid, according to the nice lady that sold me mine last week...I asker her when they start to disappear and she said three days before the tournament starts (Mon/Tues)...she did not expect a sellout (volunteered, not prompted)

With the kids hitting the beach, there won't be any issues with tickets at the Campus Center Saturday....

That and Plattsburgh isnt the opponent;)

Re: Navigating the Lakes - Oswego State Postseason 2010 Thread

I just got mine this afternoon, and there are still plenty of ice level tickets left. I don't see them really selling fast until all 4 teams have been determined this weekend.

Here's what KGT is saying to the Buff State coach. Sorry it had to be done.

We're headed up no mater who wins in. Should be three very good hockey games- plus an historic arena, good old Lake Placid, yummy beer and food at LP Pub & Brewery- not to mention my beloved ADK High Peaks (46r #2493).

Re: Navigating the Lakes - Oswego State Postseason 2010 Thread

So... consensus is that getting tickets for THIS weekend's game won't be an issue, correct?
