Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

No deadlines today or should I say no urgent deadlines and USCHO?

Bad combo for productivity. :D

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Just let Gopher fans include Falcon Heights (where the "St. Paul Campus" of UMTC is located) and things will even out (probably).

DUBBS corrected it for us. A 5 mile radius (78 square miles) is slightly bigger than a "small district" (D.C. - 70 square miles).

I ask again, how many players does the University of Minnesota have that are from a 5 mile radius of the Twin Cities campus?

If you feel slighted and need the 250 square miles...that would equate to roughly a 9 mile radius (assuming my math is correct). Not sure if that significantly changes things for you guys.

I also pointed out that the UofM also has satellite campuses all over the state of Minnesota ;)

So long as we're playing the "find an example of a district that fits my needs" game, how about Minnesota Department of Transportation districts--namely, the "Metro" District.

edit: which includes New Prague :p

I think we already settled on the Gopher definition that includes everyone in the world. :p:D:D

But, but, but... It's almost like you can spin this stupid argument any way you want. Hmm... How many Gophers come from the parallelogram centered at Mariucci with 75 degree acute angles and horizontal side lengths of 3.94 miles?

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

This is stupid... minnesota fans have been claiming fictional titles for years, why wouldn't they claim fictional homegrown players too?

Fictional Titles?

What happens when the NCAA ceases to exist? Do all your titles disappear? How about the WCHA regular and playoff titles UND has? Are all those gone.

Fictional my ***.

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Since Gopher fans claim things won before the NCAA awarded titles for hockey count, with SCSU winning the league last month does this mean they've won their first National Championship? I think so!

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

So an anomaly(definition- unusual or unexpected) of 2 Grand Forks residents playing on the UND team -vs- 0 from Minneapolis and St Paul proper means what again.......heck East Grand Forks is 1/6 the size of Grand Forks and they have 1 player on the Whioux team.....and that means nothing!!

Well it DOES mean that you have one more player on your team who is not homegrown. So that's something...

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Don't forget any DQ Cups they may have won.

I still insist the first, I think, year of the DQ Cup it was actually UND that won it since they went undefeated in the regular season against Minnesota teams. They were robbed of their rightful celebration and coupons for free Blizzards.

If a Whioux game is played in the future, but no one knows because it isn't televised outside of Whiouxville because of their awesome new TV deal, will those games really exist? :p

Yes, have you already forgot they are the most followed team in North America?

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Everyone knows being the Homegrown Talent Champs is more important than attendance.
