National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Even on their best day, the UNDeracheivers couldn't score a goal on Shibby, much less Twocox.

How many days will it take until UND posters come back to the forums after their team gets humiliated? JBSU has a better team than the No-Namers and look what happened to them.

Speaking of extension, how many years will Hakstol have before he's fired for having no national championships?

You heard it here first...anything less than a 5 goal win for Minnesota on Thursday should be considered a humiliating disappointment for the Gophers. Perhaps they'll just forfeit the Championship game and head back to Canada (assuming the secession vote goes as hoped for) if they can't even beat North Dakota by more than they beat St. Cloud. :p:D:D

As a hockey fan, you're a fool if you compare scores like that. You should also know that hockey is a game where the better team doesn't win nearly as often as it does in other sports; especially in a one and done format.

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Who would have guessed that you don't understand the two truths that willy and I brought up, despite them being explicitly stated. Since you are obviously also too embarrassed to actually become educated, I shall none the less attempt one more time.
1. UND, Wisconsin and Michigan have won more NC than Minnesota has.
Note: This is the statement that caused Scooby to intially roll his eyes and for you to, in turn, agree with his eye rolling. I'd have thought you'd at least remember this since it literally happened less than two hours ago. I guess I overestimated your short term memory capabilities.
2. UND has more homegrown talent than Minnesota. 2>0.

1. Pretty sure that is not what Scooby was reacting to. Certainly wasn't what I was reacting to.
2. I tried to find a definition of "homegrown talent" that correlates with yours and was unable. Please cite your resource. Without a resource, you are unable to claim it as a truth.

And I'll cap this post off with another  just for you.

1. So Scooby wasn't reacting to the post he quoted? Seems a bit silly to quote a post if you aren't reacting to what it says. What exactly was he reacting if not the post?
2. UND has two players from Grand Forks. Minnesota has zero players from Minneapolis or St. Paul.

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

How many of you geezers (kidding) were even alive and old enough to know what was going on in 1963? 1974? Even Gopher football had a national championship in the 60's!

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

I'm stealing Beersong's joke from twitter...

The best way to catch this game, as a person who dislikes both UND and UMTC, is with earplugs and a blindfold while hoping for both teams to lose.

Aren't jokes supposed to be funny?

Hate to break this to you, but you typing something does not allow it to be classified as a truth. Being that you were unable to provide anything from any language authority or even something published as fact, I hearby dismiss the statement as fake or made up. I think most of us aren't that shocked, but it must be difficult for you to accept. Please feel free to take all the time you need.

You might want to look up what the word truth means in a dictionary as I only made one statement, UND has two players from Grand Forks while Minnesota has zero players from Minneapolis or St. Paul. This is correct, as even your own team's official roster confirms. A big fat zero for homegrown players.

I don't know why I expect you to understand this though, so perhaps you are right and I should refrain from trying to help you understand. You are wrong, but you seem to be enjoying it. So knock yourself out and believe whatever your Gopher Overlords brainwash you to think.

Here is your original post that I responded to.

I bolded the word TRUTH there for you so you could see it. So now you claim you didn't say it and just call it a statement? Here is the definition for you. But that is why I was so confused. Claiming a truth but not actually stating one. This is really rocking my faith in the message board community, the fact someone would post something that isn't true. But that's my issue to work on. Looks like you have your own to deal with.

truth [trooth]
noun, plural truths
1. the true or actual state of a matter: He tried to find out the truth.
2. conformity with fact or reality; verity: the truth of a statement.
3. a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like: mathematical truths.
4. the state or character of being true.
5. actuality or actual existence.

It is nice to see Nodak fans finally acknowledge the importance of cultivating homegrown talent in maintaining the long-term health of a program even if they are momentarily confused by what "homegrown" means :)

If the well in Western Canada dries up, what will they be left with now that their exposure in Minnesota has been diminished by the conference realignment and their swell new TV deal?

Can't use the Gophers to get on TV in MN anymore and their own TV deal isn't doing them any favors there.

Whioux in MN (or anyone outside Nodak for that matter) will know their program even exists anymore in 10 years? :p

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

I thought by this time of the week there would be more talk about the actual game. Should have known better. Oh well - I will get it started. Let’s says that this game is tied at 2 after 2 periods. The game has been mostly player in the Gopher end, but for the most part, pretty equal. Shots are nearly identical. Penalties are - Sioux: 2 for 4:00 and Gophs: 3 for 6:00. Face-offs are even. Both goalies seem to be solid position-wise, but are giving up some long rebounds. Shepherd and Anderson are reffing. Tons of Sioux and Gopher hockey alumni in attendance. The puck is just about to drop to start the third and the lights go out. When the emergency back-up lights kick in, there are dozens of al queda jihadists repelling from the ceiling of the arena. Which team (including alums) would kill the most terrorists and who would be the MVP?

Indeed. We will be using the following definition of truth that you have so graciously provided us with: a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like: mathematical truths.

Now the first statement made was the following: UND, Wisconsin and Michigan have won more NC than Minnesota has.
Michigan has nine national championships
North Dakota has seven national championships
Wisconsin has six national championships
Minnesota has five national championships

It is a verified fact that Michigan, North Dakota and Wisconsin have more National Championships than Minnesota, so the statement wily made was the truth.

Onto the next statement: UND has more homegrown talent than Minnesota. 2>0.
This one I've already covered multiple times, but what's another time?
UND has two players from Grand Forks.
Minnesota has zero players from Minneapolis or St. Paul.

Looking at the official rosters of both teams, it is a verified fact that North Dakota has more homegrown talent than Minnesota, so the statement I made was the truth.

I'm sorry you don't like it, but you not liking it does not change anything.

So homegrown is now just being from Minneapolis or St.Paul? You must be hitting the Bucky fans' thinner pretty hard.

Jealous of all of our MN born talent, not surprising.

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Where was source for that definition of homegrown again? Way too much junk to read through.

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

It's a definition in his head only, as most know what homegrown really means.
He'll find one definition that cites city as an example, and we'll find other definitions that say region or area and he won't be able to comprehend.
