National Semi-Final April 9 BU vs Sioux (revenge for 1997)

Re: National Semi-Final April 9 BU vs Sioux (revenge for 1997)

Lol at trying to park over there.

..why? do you not know how to park?.. its the Camden lot (its right behind the arena off Columbus Ave right after the baseball fields
(if coming from Mass Ave direction)..

enter, wave to the guard.. pick a spot.. park. Walk over the footbridge (over the Amtrack/Orange station) & walk into the arena..

if anyone is coming from the suburbs for the Hobey ceremony & gets there early.. perfect way to save $25 $30 whatever it is on the parking charges. I've been using the lot for hockey for over 20 yrs. There is nothing to lol about.. except of course when I see folks forking out $25-$30 to park in the area.. while we walk into the arena.. :)

Is that lot open and free on a weekday?

no, no.. do not get me wrong.. they will tow you away almost every other time if you do not have the NU credentials to park. However.. they do make exceptions (for the NU Hockey games, special events (where the free parking is advertised in advance) etc.). The Hobey ceremony is one such event (besides the Basketball/Hockey gms).

Great lot, very convenient (literally adjacent to arena).. use it when they give it to you. If you arrive early (2:30p) that day or so.. make an afternoon of it.. go for a drink/ eat whatever.. then the ceremony. I've been to the Pru area, shopped with friends, lunch/ dinner etc mixed with the hockey over the yrs. Its a good lot when you can get it this way.

Oh, I know all about that lot and park there. But it's usually after work or on a Saturday and this ceremony starts at 3pm on a Friday.

Lot is opening for the free park at 2:30 that day I believe.. pretty sure you can stay until late evening. I have.. over the yrs (for different events).. without issues.

edit: just checked.. lot opens at 2pm that day.

Not to get off track here, but how exactly did BU beat the Michigan juggernaut in the semifinals back in 1997? This was supposed to be the Wolverine's year...

You've obviously never been to Grand Forks, ND. If it's Low 40s, the UND fans will be the people walking around in shorts!

High of 57 on Thursday and 61 on Saturday in Grand Forks. High of 41 on Thursday and 54 on Saturday in Boston. Hopefully, the North Dakota fans can adjust to the cold weather. :)

It just seems common that the team everyone expects to win it often doesn't. That's what so exciting and scary about one-and-done.

Are you guys not getting mookie's reference or are you ignoring it and making your own statements?

It's a quote from someone after the Michigan loss, isn't it? Red?

mookie???

Who's mookie? :p

In viewing this game in the greater context of Wonderful West vs. the Evil East, I think it's pretty clear where my loyalties should lie...

Go Fighting Jack Eichels.

Brendan Morrisson. Which led to some BU fans using a similar statement when he won the Hobey over Drury. :D

In case anyone really cares and doesn't know, BU won that game by playing a one-man forecheck, which frustrated the Michigan offense. As Bob Norton said on the broadcast, BU was forced to play that style during the season when injuries forced them to play some games without even being able to dress a full squad and therefore having to play a more conservative game plan so as not to tire out.

BU also played very physically, with lots of big hits getting the anti-Michigan portions of the crowd fired up. BU got three goals from freshmen (Greg Quebec, Albie O'Connell, and Tommi Degerman) to overcome a 1 goal deficit and hung on to stun Botterrill, Morrisson, Turco, and company.

Why Parker switched the game plan for the final against North Dakota, I'll never know, but I was not happy.....
