Wait, did onion actually seriously say that it should be in Gary? Did he completely ignore the fact that THEY DON'T HAVE AN ARENA!?!?

Caught up with the fact that it's no longer the murder capital. Murder and ice arena are the same thing.

So why would it be such a bad place? Great city. Great Arena. Plenty of hotels, bars, restaurants and shopping within walking distance of the arena. Good Transportation hub. Good weather at that time of year. I thought that those were things people always wanted for a Frozen Four...

I wonder if a city like Raleigh, NC would try and get one someday. They did a pretty good job with the All Star game and obviously they have a rink. To me Raleigh would be kind of like Nashville. Either way, I'm definitely in the camp where I'd rather see it in a traditional northern NHL-college type town, but that's just me. I really did enjoy Detroit (aside from just the fact that BC won), but my only complain is they didnt play at the Joe. That would have been great. I want them to put another one in Denver quickly. That place was the king.

He's really given no reason other than he doesn't like the city. He apparently only wants it in cities that he likes, nevermind that other people might like the city, it's only allowed wherever Onion man wants it.

The difference between Nashville and Tampa or to a lesser extent Raleigh is that Nashville is much closer to the midwestern teams. I don't love the Tampa/San Jose type Frozen Fours, but I think Nashville could work well.

I agree with this 100%. I think that DC worked pretty well partly because it too isn't too far out of the way for most college hockey fans. Sure, a lot flew, but it was very driveable for eastern fans (8 and a half hours for BU fans - an eternity out east, but certainly not the 24 hours it would take to get to Tampa - and heck, even UVM was only 9 and a half hours), and not disgusting for CCHA fans either (Miami fans drove the same 9 and a half hours as UVM fans). It's already been mentioned that Nashville is within a "reasonable" within ~9 ish hour drive of Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Bowling Green, Ohio State, Miami, Western Michigan, UAH, and RMU, plus add Ferris, Wisconsin, and Mercyhurst another hour or so away, and suddely Nashville looks fairly centraly located...

That, and I believe it has a fairly decent sized airport that should allow most people to fly in directly. Denver, Twin Cities, Chicago, Detroit, Boston and NYC should all have daily flights I would think. The only fans here that should really expect to have to make a transfer would be those in Alaska, but that comes with the territory there.

Nashville is a Southwest hub, so flights would be quite reasonable.

Good enough sized. I know Minneapolis (I fly direct from Minneapolis to Nashville), Chicago and NYC all have daily direct flights. I am fairly sure it is the same for Denver/Boston/Detroit.

While it's obviously not driveable unless there is lots of planning, Tampa will be quite easy to fly to. It's not a hub for any one airline, therefore they all fly in there, including Southwest. There should be lot of flights available and it's a manageable 3 hour flight from MN, so I'm sure it'd be the same for the NE. I understand that being able to drive attracts quite a few more people, but it's not like flying to Anaheim.

one thing about the Nashville rink, the ice surface is not good at all. Most of the visiting NHL teams complain about how choppy it is.

Why reward areas/cities that do not support college hockey. If you want to vacation in Nashville or Florida or where ever, go on your own time. You're never going to draw college hockey fans in thoughs areas to begin with. If your state or area doesn't have a team, then the FF shouldn't be going there.

I hope you are a freshman at Ferris State so you still have time to take English 101 where they might teach you that it is "those areas" and not "thoughs areas."

And here I thought the Nashville Predators played in Tennessee (Nashville, Tennessee I believe but don't quote me on that) and the Tampa Bay Lightning/Florida Panthers played in Florida. I am very upset to know that I've been wrong all these years.

How did you get he was saying Nashville was in Florida?

Also, didn't UAH play a game at Bridgestone this year?
