MTU @ tUMD: Nerds swarm Duluth

Re: MTU @ tUMD: Nerds swarm Duluth

Yager needs verification of some of his gathered sources of data. Please give Yager any additional comments on these places or add extras.

Food:
• Burito Union – Very similar to Chipotle/Qdoba
• Pizza Luce - Close, a favorite of almost all, somewhat inexpensive, artistic and creative pizza that tastes amazing
• VIP – Vintage Italian Pizza - self explanatory, and a close second favorite of most
• Fitger’s Brewhouse - Nicer place for food and 16 of their own brews on tap
• Pickwick Restaurant - Higher side of cost but apparently worth it
• Grandmas Restaurant - Saloon – note this is different than the Sports Garden, great food
• Coney Island the Original and Coney Island Deluxe - I went to supposedly the better one of these two and it is nothing compared to a real Coney Island near Detroit but still great if you need a fix from the Coneyless UP
• Little Angies - Huge margaritas and great chips and salsa, its probably not worth the food just those two
• Hells Kitchen - great pancakes and sweet potato fries that come with burgers are awesome
• The Anchor - in Superior – worth the trip, apparently. Good burgers
• And most other places around Canal Park are great.

Drinks:
• Most Duluth restaurants (even less formal places, like Burito Union) serve beer, and a lot have other choices
• Fitger’s Brewhouse (16 of their own brews on tap)
• Palace Bar (superior)
• Schultz's Sports Bar (Superior) - $3.25 36oz mugs of beer
• Timber Lodge Steakhouse – Lots of happy hour specials

Re: MTU @ tUMD: Nerds swarm Duluth

wolverineTrumpet is glad it is Thursday, but wishes it were Friday.

tTrumpet also wishes she was going to Duluth this weekend to make fun of tTechies and tBulldogs. However, she skipped out on a Michigan/Michigan State series last year to go to middle of nowhere MN and believes that is not an activity she needs to do every year.

One day tTrumpet will make it to Duluth (it is one of 2 WCHA arenas tTrumpet has not been to).

Re: MTU @ tUMD: Nerds swarm Duluth

Luckily, Yager never specified which postgame celebrations, so even though Brenthoven is a dirty tease, Brenthoven will still have a bar tab hanging over Brenthoven's head. :p

tBrenthoven would then cite being misled, as tBrenthoven surely sees that tYager's post means this weekend, and this weekend only.

Anyway, tUMD will sweep tMTU handily. And for whatever tParise-awful reason, tBrenthoven thinks tlack of penalties by both teams will shock both groups of tfans.

Re: MTU @ tUMD: Nerds swarm Duluth

tbigblue is so wrong. Thorogood, SRV, Bo Diddley, etc. Nothing like tblues to drink to.

As for country music, anything after George Jones is tsuck. And even then....
bigblue_dl has never heard of any of those people (except George Jones). bigblue_dl also disagrees with tbrent's opinion of country music.

Crazypotatoes would not be entirely surprised by a lack of penalties considering both coaches have probably been emphasizing not taking bad penalties this week at practice.

Dirty is not surprised a hick like bigblue has not heard of people with actual talent given bigblue's poor taste in music.

Biddco would like to add that tAnchor is a bar and is 21 only, even if you come for a burger.
Green Mill has happy hour with half off aps and good rail drink specials in the bar area.

Crazypotatoes wonders if tAnchor has good bacon cheeseburgers. Crazypotatoes also wonders why we stopped talking about bacon goodness.

Crazypotatoes is looking forward to this weekend. Crazypotatoes is not, however, looking forward to the two exams he has to take between now and when he leaves Friday afternoon... :(

Re: MTU @ tUMD: Nerds swarm Duluth

bigblue_dl is going to go to Grandmas for a burger instead of going to Wisconsin.

bigblue_dl would like to remind dirty that he doesn't only listen to country music, he also listens to rock, old and new.

Dirty points out that if bigblue truly listened to rock, old and new, he would know the names Brent mentioned.

tbrent said that those singers were blues singers. bigblue_dl doesn't listen to or like tblues music.

Re: MTU @ tUMD: Nerds swarm Duluth

tDarkness would like to supplement this conversation by mentioning that he listens to what ever he feels like.

tDarkness has spent the last week or so listening to tracks from DJ Hero. He has also spent a lot of time recently listening to tDonnas, tBeatles, tSupremes, Lupe Fiasco, Jack's Mannequin, P!nk, Eve 6 and a whole array of other stuff.

"Emphasizing" may be the understatement of the week.

tbrent said that those singers were blues singers. bigblue_dl doesn't listen to or like tblues music.

Just FYI, George Thorogood and Stevie Ray Vaughan (SRV) are definitely a lot more "blues-rock" than pure blues.

Re: MTU @ tUMD: Nerds swarm Duluth

bigblue_dl is in country mood, probably because he is watching the CMAs

Miranda Lambert is a goddess.
tTaylor Swift's hotter.

Anyways, You need hands, rough not soft
To come and warm you up up in that cold hayloft
Let me hold you little darling in my big strong arms
Can't get these kind of muscles anywhere but a farm

Hey I'm a country man a city boy can't do the things I can
I can grow my own groceries and salt cure a ham
Hey baby I'm a country man

I've got a jeep with camouflage seats
That way nobody sees us parked back up in these trees
Your little i-pod loaded down with hoobastank
Don't be a tape player hater girl were groovin' to Hank

Hey I'm a country man a city boy can't do the things I can
I can hotwire your tractor and plow up your land
Hey baby I'm a country man

You like the ivy league hum-v tennis sweater type
But girl I'm here to tell you don't believe the hype

Hey I'm a country I can wrestle hogs and gators with my two bare hands
Girl you better move quick I'm in high demand
Hey baby I'm a country man

Hey I'm a country man huntin' me a good ole'
country girlfriend
Why don't you come and join me in my new deer stand
Hey baby I'm a country man
Hey baby I'm a country man

Anyways, Yager, ctf is going to kick your àss.
ctf also think it's amusing that there's four posters going to Duluth in one van tomorrow.
