If all the calls were clearly in CC's favor as most of the fans saw it, I could see Olson losing his temper and hitting someone in retaliation. But "cheap thug'? No, sorry. You've lost all credibility.

I don't think you'll find anyone who debates that Olson ran Thorimbert on purpose. Olson was giving the bench the beaver tail on the way off the ice to get them to wake up. But after Olson ran him did Thorimbert get up and skate away and mind his own business? Hmmm, I didn't see it that way. Seems he went right after Olson and at least one other player, yet his name didn't seem to find his way on the penalty list. CC gets a 2 and a 10 and Tech gets a minor, a major and two misconducts. The way the penalties read Tech must have pounded the snot out of a couple of CC players to get a list of calls like that. Anyone from CC want to admit that is what they saw happen? I didn't think so. At most Olson's major should have been the difference as he started it. But when you see an incident like that and the penalties are 12 minutes to 27 minutes... Well then I call it what it is.

I didn't see the incident well enough to judge whether ALL of the penalties went to the right places, but considering Tech instigated the whole thing, I don't think you should expect it to come out even. That's the last I will say about that incident because NONE of that changes the fact that CC absolutely took it to Mich. Tech for almost the entire 60 minutes. That had nothing to do with the officiating. There were some missed calls on both sides, but officiating had no affect on the outcome of the game, and anyone who watched that game and believes otherwise either needs glasses or needs to sober up.

I'm guessing tonight will be a very different game. Tech is too good to go away quietly, and CC will really have a battle on their hands tonight as they go for the sweep. And if Tech wins, I doubt it will be because of the officiating, but rather because they play better hockey. Just a crazy idea.

We don't want to be friends with them. They're that kid that that the cool kids let hang around with them because they secretly give the cool kids head when no one is looking, and give the cool kids the key to the family liquor cabinet.

In an unrelated item, I highly recommend the Garden of Gods park for those staying in town after the game. It's worth the drive and won't even cost you anything if you spent all your money at the bar.

Is CC the dirtiest team we've seen this season? It doesn't seem right that they'd be playing this way but Wes sounds completely frustrated with the level of hack-ness coming out the the CC players - completely undisciplined, a lot of apparent attempts to seriously injure. Dirk is biting his tongue but you can sense the outrage when none of the obvious calls get made. They're being given free reign with a lot of boarding, hits to head, etc. etc.
If the refs can't control the game, you'd wish their coaching staff would be able to hold some level of discipline to keep this from happening. Robinson was injured when he was run on Friday. If someone gets more seriously hurt today, there will be a lot of regrets about how this series was played by CC. These refs definitely need to be disciplined by the league, whatever the reason for this abortion of a hockey series was.

the guys played strong tonight, but just couldn't bury it. pasty party a big success, all the players there, Glen and Gail Mroz sat with the fans, Suzanne was there, Mel talked to the fans and worked the crowd, Susie was there. Tech fans made a great showing. I can't wait for next weekend!!!1!!

Wow, CC... dirty? HA HA HA. DU is dirty. NoDak is dirty. CC only had 9 hits the entire game. Yes, Dineen hit your player from behind and was given 2 for charging. Yes, the refs suck. BUT Olson hit Thorny with an elbow to the head last night. Tonight, Skalbeck was hit with a sucker punch in a scrum and nothing happened. We had a guy hit from behind, no call. You guys got the a full 2 minute five on three based on two awful calls on the same play. Tech was the dirtier team. They just couldn't cash in on a CC team that didn't show up for the first 30 minutes tonight.

I look forward to next weekend. It will be a fun series, I'll miss you guys when the leagues change.

I have NO idea where the "dirty" reference comes from about CC, and I don't think I've ever heard that until this weekend. I know I'm a CC fan, which means I'm more likely to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I am also very good about seeing the game from a neutral perspective in terms of calls, chippiness, etc and I'm at a complete loss as to how anyone would call them dirty.

While I certainly haven't seen most CC games this season, I would agree. CC tends to be one of the cleaner teams in all the WCHA, playing more like an Eastern team at times (no offense). The fact that they finished 10th in PIMs in conference seems to back that up.

With all this whining about the officiating, I still think some of you Tech fans sound like UAA fans. Come on. Your fan base has been too good for too long to start being that way. The officials had nothing to do with the outcome of either game this weekend.

well, yeah, CC's not dirty and neither is Tech. we will miss you guys when you move to the NaCHos. wish you were staying. we've always enjoyed our series with you. your fans are classy.

Michigan Tech fans have always been amongst my favorites in our sport. You are true die hards and I am happy to see your team improving so much because you as a fanbase deserve it. When the new conferences start, Tech is the team I may miss the most.

Well unfortunately for the Tech the subject of this thread came true. Five more days until our next game. This first set of games made it pretty clear that they need more time on the big sheet before next Friday.
