MSU (spartans) vs. Maine - Oct. 16/17

Re: MSU (spartans) vs. Maine - Oct. 16/17

I will be pleasantly surprised if Maine sneaks a point out of this weekend. I will be a little surprised if we play hard for three periods out of six.

College athletics is all about momentum, morale and motivation; case in point, UWashington football-- 0-12 last year and a cruddy recruiting year but they are 3-3 so far with pretty much the same players, but a new coach has instilled pride and an ethic again.

This program is a mess. Someone said that below and I have to agree; attitude is not about fear-- attitude is not about being a tyrant-- attitude is abotu hard workbuilt on respect and a desire to succeed backed by the knowledge that the staff and your teammates have your best interests at heart. The reality is that the players are playing for themselves because they know that Timmy is coaching for himself and blaming others along the way. Players playing for themselves can't be blamed (its not really their fault-- people who fear making mistakes tend to make them)-- this is all on the program's leadership.

(Who was the Owsla chief--I remember it being Captain Holly-then Bigwig at the Down-- now the head of the Owslafa was Campion, of course--not a bad rabbit, but a rule follower)-- what a great great piece if literature.--great name, Spartan fan--enjoy your time here-- some good Indian food and Thai food in downtown Bangor--Orono is a little boring, but you will at least be happy with your team--this is a weekend where you will get experience and wins.)

Is there any internet access to watch the games? I went to the team's web site and I can't find an "All-Access" type of connection for Maine.

You all enjoy the trip. I'm hoping for a good showing again by the Spartans but we can't get too confident.

Maine fans act like their program has bit the dust but i think these will be two tough games for MSU. We are still a very young team and many have not played a road game yet. I am sure Maine has a lot of talent and will really step it up this weekend at home since it seems their backs are already against the wall.

OMG. I just spit out my coffee. I love the sandbagging.

Pepino's still in business? Worth it to make the trip over for lunch on Saturday, make sure to try the green sauce.

Double dough, double cheese, pepperoni, hamburg, well done. Bud draught.(and keep em coming) MMmmmmmmmmmm! :D

You'd need a half a package of napkins to soak the grease off that baby:p

Is there any TV Coverage of this game (besides Bangor station. I dont quite get that in the UP of Michigan)? Or internets showing?

Re: MSU (spartans) vs. Maine - Oct. 16/17

Maine isn't part of the All-Access racket. The plus side? Audio is free of charge.

The minus? The old video feed (www.watchmainesports.com) seems to have been discontinued. Declining interest? Wouldn't surprise me if that's the reason why.

Now Campion's someone you'd go into battle with. Currently the chief is evil alter-ego Woundwort. Now the geek factor is revealed.

Yep, when ever up in that area, its several bottles of the green stuff bought from Pepinos and $150 worth of meat from the Bears One Stop in Newport. Best steaks, burger, chicken, and chops you will find anywhere, anyplace. Dont ask me why, it just is.

As far the green stuff goes...great on nachos, with scrambled eggs, and is rumored to cure herpes and alzheimers. :D Not that I would know first hand....lol.

Re: MSU (spartans) vs. Maine - Oct. 16/17

I used to buy a few bottles of the green stuff too, but used it so infrequently, they'd go bad before I finished the bottle(little black specks growing in them).

And I haven't been back to Orono in so long, it's been quite a few years since I had any. Man, I miss that stuff.

It also burns you twice. ;) :D

So i was checking out last year's Maine results and I found something. The very first game, against New Brunswick, it says NB had 4 shots on goal the entire game...and 4 goals. Is that true? If it is, that is one of the most stupid things i have heard in a while.

Sorry for the misinformation, folks. I'm old and out-of-date. I blame Whitehead.

Anyway, just go to the Maine athletics website, choose schedule > men's ice hockey. On the right sidebar, you'll find a link for All-Access. Oh heck, why don't I just put the link below. Here you go: http://goblackbears.cstv.com/sports/m-hockey/sched/main-m-hockey-sched.html
