Congrats Spartys. Anastos might not have won much but he's apparently still doing some things right somewhere. That's a great commit.
Great? How so? According to the NDTP website. 43 games, 7-6 for 13 pts. Now in fairness, it did not list the +/-. So have to take that into account. And I have not found when he would be arriving on campus. Any idea on that?
Many, questions, hoping for answers.
Point lines don't tell the story a lot of the time. And +/- almost never does.
The fact that he's even played in 43 games for the USA U-18's despite starting the year as a 16 year old should tell you something. He's not Draft eligible until 2017 and if he enters college in the fall he will still only be 17. He's been playing a checking role on the loaded U18's but he's a very good player and will be a top guy for Sparty. Be happy.

Plenty of outrage, some in this thread but much more in the 'Fire Tom' thread. Also, the LSJ, Freep comment's are full of unhappy campers. The MSU Blueline FB page is full of outrage with the exception of one person, who maybe the head of the BLC. And that's the 'Program support' group. It's there.
The MSU Blue Line Club supports the PROGRAM and the Coach, whoever it may be. Members volunteer many hours throughout the year to raise money that is donated to the hockey program for technology and facilities. Just because 3 or 4 people exercise their constitutional right to free speech on a public forum (who may not even be Blue Line Club members) does not make it an official position of the Blue Line Club.
Agreed - this guy's a significant pickup, and at 6' and 16yo there's room to grow. Now if we can just have someone qualified to coach him ...
I never said it was the official position of the MSU Blue Line Club. Anyone with common sense would know that.
I just mentioned what people were saying on the MSU Blue Line Club, and MSU Hockey Face Book Pages. And your comment of "3 or 4 people" those numbers are seriously low. If the BLC chooses to edit, and remove what they consider to be disparaging comments directed toward tCHHCoMSU on their FB page, it is certainly in their right to do so. And please don't lecture me upon the MSUBLC. I was a member and volunteer for many years from the 1980's through the mid 2000's. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.
Correct, you did not state that it was the Blue Line Club's official position, but I (and others who have contacted me) felt it was implied in your comments. As far as the Facebook posts, they are never deleted or altered by the Blue Line Club. I was not trying to lecture you on the Club, I just wanted to state and/or clarify the purpose and position of the Club for those whose only knowledge or opinion of the Club may be this influenced by this thread. It is not my intention to get into an argument regarding this. That is all I have to say.
I feel, it would be downright embarrassing, to win the B10 tourney, and go to the dance with such an appalling record.
You have to win the Thursday game before you win the tournament.
Well, winning, that is a problem isn't it. Congrats on keeping Red around for another year.
Thanks. That guy is amazing. He wanted to come back, it was his decision. I met his son years ago and he said that Coaching Michigan keeps him going. The job means something to him. I could tell you more about our conversation but then I'd have to kill you. Even during Grad. School there (I graduated in 2004) I spoke with a lot of the players and every single one of them said that not only did Coach Berenson have the best back-hand on the team, but that he could also go on the highest level on the Stairmaster longer than anyone on the team. The guy is a freak and totally loves Michigan. I am so grateful to have him.
And yes I "almost" feel sorry for you with what is happening to your program. "Almost".
It's been amusing from our perspective hearing rumblings over the years from the Michigan fanbase that they want Red to hang them up, particularly after this season. The guy's a legend, still recruits great and puts good teams on the ice. I get that a couple NCAA tourneys were missed and what not but I couldn't help thinking "be careful what you wish for." I think Michigan will do a good job replacing Red but Comley was a proven coach who experienced major bumps that were unthinkable under Mason and now we are here.
There's no guarantee that change will succeed, or even maintain.
