MSU Spartan off-season - the grand flame-out

Re: MSU Spartan off-season - the grand flame-out

One tiny bit of news regarding the GLI, gleaned from a story posted on the schedules thread: Colorado College, who replaces Boston University in the GLI, will be the late game on 12/29 vs. MSU. Thought that would be a handy thing to pass on.

Disappointed to see BU bail out, but CC is a quality replacement. They were dominant during their 2005 appearance. That just happened to be the game that marked the beginning of the Jeff Lerg era at MSU as Dominic Vicari was pulled early in the game.

Death Watch begins for the Corey Tropp era. Post-mortem by this Friday ...
time to imagine life with Gazely as your leading senior scorer.

What does MSU stand for?

See you all during the season bromigos

Re: MSU Spartan off-season - the grand flame-out

We generally get an idea of what may happen in terms of late summer defections based on who shows up to help teach at the Michigan State Hockey School. Has anyone heard of a Corey Tropp sighting there over the last couple weeks?

Oh, for what it's worth, our greenlines are blue again.

Thank God. I'm all for the new brand (though it kills me to see the script gone) but the green lines was a terrible idea. I'm going to assume it was just a summer thing. Hollis couldn't be that stupid. Oh wait, Hollis doesn't realize MSU has a hockey program.

On the other hand, free agents are moving today. Which means we could hear something tonight or tomorrow regarding left over $$.

Looks like Buffalo will have about $10 M left under the cap unless they make headline-making pickup.

Re: MSU Spartan off-season - the grand flame-out

So, schedules are being posted on MSU's athletics website. Not hockey, of course, but it looks like the landslide has begun.

Re: MSU Spartan off-season - the grand flame-out

The end came so precipitously for this team it's almost surreal.
Comley lost this team two weeks ago.
MSU may lose a lot more than 3 seniors. How can anybody feel good about next year?

Can this become a Fire Walt Comley thread???
