MSU @ Maine Sat 10/17

Re: MSU @ Maine Sat 10/17

TIMMAY had high praise for Andersson in the pregame. Just imagine how much better he'd be if TIMMAY had played him all last season, instead of those three guys he cut from the team.
Why all of the negativity? MSU had a worse record last season than Maine, but you don't hear all of this ripping on Comley.

And how did you do the year before that? Plus, how are you going to do this season?

Re: MSU @ Maine Sat 10/17

So he goes scoreless his first 3 years and scores two in his first four games this year?

I'll take it.

he's probably seeing double or triple the ice time he got in his first three seasons here. Every time I look, his line is back on the ice.

Re: MSU @ Maine Sat 10/17

Anything less than a NC is unacceptable to most here sadly.

I don't think we've set our sights that high. I think it's more like we expect an opportunity to be able to play for a National Championship. Meaning, we want a team that makes it to the NCAA tourney with a real shot to advance further.

The other reason you can't compare Whitehead and Comley is who these schools are.

Michigan State could have 5 down years, then just bounce right back because it's Michigan State: a Big 10 school with a powerhouse basketball program and 70,000 showing up on Saturdays for football. Kids will always recognize the name.

For Maine, this is it. There may not be a bounceback. This could be a Lake Superior State situation. If Maine has 5 down years, and the name doesn't have the same luster, kids don't want to come to Orono, facilities are aging and the program isn't making money, that's it. We can't dip into basketball or football money and turn things around.

Blown defensive coverage and MSU scores a pretty tic tac toe goal.
