Re: Movies 51 - Rise of the Frozen Joker: Chapter II: Dark Fate

I've seen numerous articles saying there's a weird little hybrid generation from 1977-1984, called "Xennials." They played outside as kids, and driving around town with your friends was a fun thing to do in high school. Still young enough to adapt to the technology boom seamlessly, though.

I suspect most of the writers of these articles were born between 1980-1984, and like dx, do not identify with millennials.

That’s kind of how I feel.

Yep. That too.

Yeah I’m in that small time frame and it fits me

Yep. Same here. I prefer "Oregon Trail" generation.

A Christmas Story sucks balls too. Princess Bride had moments.

Christmas Story was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. And it has to be genetic, because my dad hates it too

Did you eat paint chips as a child?

I already know you have a soul, Miss. T. I'm worried about your boyz over there. They are messed up from all the cows and boredom or something.

I know your dream is that all of flyover be one big state you can ignore because we arent smart enough for you...but maybe bust out an atlas or something because Michigan and Minnesota are not the same thing. :p Oh and there aint a whole lot of cows in suburbia ;)

And yes A Christmas Story is a stupid boring waste of time. The only good thing about it is that people sit and watch it all day which means I dont have to deal with them :D

Princess Bride never clicked with me. I didnt grow to hate it until it became the go to "Here Comes My Witty Reference" for everyone and their mother for 25 years. Every so often I try again to watch it, see if maybe I will grow into it and I just never do.

But hey, there are movies everyone loves that I hate more than PB. (PB has a few moments I do enjoy) To this day I dont know how anyone watches any Will Ferrell films where he is the star. (outside of Elf)

15-year generations?

Where are we, Nambia?

Let's say:

8/6/45 Boomer -->
11/22/63 X -->
1/20/81 Millenial -->
9/11/01 Z -->

Still makes me a Boomer by a few months, but coasties are precocious so I claim X.

Also: generations aren't real.

Professional demographers decide generation years.

Also, you can't claim to be Generation X. We don't exist.

And there as many of them and different ranges as there are any other opinion. The whole idea of generations having traits is fun pseudo-science like astrology, and the only time academics stoop to use the concept they are selling their crock pop sci books.

I knew I didnt exist! (born in 1980)

My whole life is one long existential crisis :eek:

Re: Movies 51 - Rise of the Frozen Joker: Chapter II: Dark Fate

Boomers think the Beatles are significant. Therefore I am not a Boomer. QED

Maybe you are part of the "Too Old to Be a Hipster but Still Sound Like One" generation or something ;)
