Movies 2026: Shame and Money

mookie watched searching for Bobby fisher this afternoon. Loaded cast.
I have always identified with the dad when he reads the riot act to the teacher.

And yes I know we're not supposed to. But he's right. Let millions of NPCs go to the wall to save one creative genius.

For my money, that is Mel's most underrated film. I enjoy the story of how he gave Hitchcock a private screening before the public release, and Mel thought he'd offended the Master of Suspense because, as the credits rolled, he left expressionless and didn't say a word. A few days later, Mel received a case of good wine and a note of approval from him.

A rare film on which I disagreed with most of the critical reaction. Ebert only gave it 2.5 stars and insisted Hitch couldn't be spoofed. I think he was just afraid of offending his audience.

Wifey is at pottery class, perhaps I'll go put it on now.

I did not like it at first. I like it more the more I see it. But I like it for individual acting performances and little scenes. The plotline is the weakest of all of Brooks' work IMO, even allowing for it being such a great Hitch parody. Young Frankenstein is parody after all but it's a great story too.

This merch tells me Dune 3's gonna suck twice as hard as Dune 2.
