Re: Movie Thread #50: Godzilla gives us permission to nuke our enemies

Looking back at the 80's there are some real mysteries on there.

Teen Wolf (47%)
St Elmo's Fire (44%)
Twins (44%)
Top Gun (43%) (New reviews have pushed it over 50%)
Road House (42%)
Rocky IV (40%)
Young Guns (40%)

A View to A Kill (37%)
The bolded are all great bad movies.

Road house SUCKED

But it sucked so bad, it was great, just like all the other movies I bolded on that list. ;)

"I used to f* guys like you in jail."

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! THAT'S COMEDY GOLD!

I have seen RH so many times now (at least a dozen) I am willing to argue it doesn't suck. It knows it's being cheesy when it is (the monster truck? Come on, that's witting.), which makes it a parody.

Anyway, I have gone past liking it because it's bad and actually now have a sincere affection for it. I'm laughing with it now, not at it. It's pure fun.

All of this. It's horribly awesome, without trying to be. That is what makes it fun.

Mookie has never in his life been on this rotten tomatoes website

Re: Movie Thread #50: Godzilla gives us permission to nuke our enemies

If mookie typed 100 he would be shorting it. Literally couldn’t estimate it is so high

I can see it with you. Reminds me, I haven't seen it in two months or so. I need to rectify that. Yeah, I own it. Is that really a surprise? :D

Re: Movie Thread #50: Godzilla gives us permission to nuke our enemies

Sadly road house is no on Netflix at the moment. Mookie has been watchin* major league and major league 2 nightly this summer. So each of them has been viewed 50+ times since girl and the kids went to the US for summer vacation.

Major League, I can say 100+ times. A buddy of mine can quote the whole script, even the Japanese portions.

It's been on AMC about five times this week. I'd say just give the channel a spin; it may come up. IINM TNT runs it a lot too.

It's the new Caine-Hackman theory. At any time, "Shawshank" or "Roadhouse" will be on some channel somewhere.
