MN @ WI: The Real Battle Of Interstate 94

Re: MN @ WI: The Real Battle Of Interstate 94

I don't know what took them so long to review that last Badger goal, but I was worried that they were going to wipe it out after all of that time. I'm glad it counted because it was a clear goal. Got 3 points on the road. Bring on UND.

Re: MN @ WI: The Real Battle Of Interstate 94

The main difference between the two that I see (other than how the team plays in front of them) is that Patterson seems to be better at making the 1-2 key saves to keep the game tied or close. If stupid Helgeson didn't knock his stick away, MN wins tonight. But crap like that is what happens to mediocre teams, and they cannot overcome such mistakes.

Ye of little faith, MN eventually would have found a way to lose this game 3-3.

Re: MN @ WI: The Real Battle Of Interstate 94

Last night the Gophers demonstrated much better hustle around the net, positional and gritty defense, backchecking and Patterson came up with some key saves. I thought Justin Holl did a fine job on D, and deserves more looks and playing time. It's obviously been a tough week of adjustment with guys going down with injuries and illnesses, and yet the Gophers showed they have the ability to respond with some desperation.

The Bye next weekend comes at an opportune time to heal up and evaluate. Obviously fan expectations have been dashed early this season to some degree, but 3-1-1 over the last 5 games isn't too bad. I still have hope that this Saturday night team will at some point consistently show up on both nights as the season progresses. Pride on Ice is not dead, however at times it appears to be asleep at the wheel.

It's the team playing in front of Patterson. For whatever reason they tend to play harder when he is in net. And sadly the Gophers stopped forechecking early in the 3rd which possibly prevented them from scoring the clinching goal. This team may not be first place talent wise in the WCHA, but they're a hell of a lot better than the bottom third when they actually bring the effort. Frustrating as hell to watch.

I can be happy with the Badgers taking 3 points from the rodents, especially with such a young team and playing in such a hostile environment. Bring on Sue!

Went out collecting this afternoon. All set, thanks! ;)

Thread winner.

Aside - my cousin bagged a 10 pointer with a 19" inside spread and the most MASSIVE beams I've ever seen with a bow yesterday morning. Good weekend in Cheddarland (I like that Brent - sounds like a redneck amusement park).

I agree except for the highlighted. Both goof and Badger fans said something was missing, and I'm guessing it was fans in maroon & gold.
