MN @ MSU: tArrogance vs The Little Sister of Blue.

Re: MN @ MSU: tArrogance vs The Little Sister of Blue.

I forgive you but Parise says you're going to atone.

Parise is the Devil.

I hope St Pat returns to form tonight. There's some rumor floating around about why he appeared to have a black eye last night, and would explain why he might have been a little off. I just hope he had a bad game, and he doesn't let in the softies he did last night.

And for crying out loud, find a way to break MSU's style! MN showed it in the last 5 minutes of the 1st last night, they can do it again. And I hope the reffing is a little better tonight. A blatant tripping was missed last night, and they also forgot the definition of icing during a key point in the game. Don't get me wrong, it didn't cost MN the game, but it was still bad.

What are the rumors?

Michigan State seems like a pretty good team. Much better than advertised.

Yep, gotta give credit to MSU, they played a nice series and deserved the three points.

Strange celebrating a tie, though it did come mostly due to winning the trophy, but still strange. I like the way things are going this year for the Spartans. It looks like the Anastos style has kicked in.

It was good seeing some atmosphere back in Munn. Usually we don't get anything close to that unless Michigan comes to town. Maybe the B1G Conference is what's needed to fill up Munn again.

Absolutely!!

Good series MS fans, wish the Gophs could have earned the split tonight tho.

I couldn't help but share the opinion with those around me that the game tonight had the intensity I've only seen with um in town. Crowd got into it like I never expected 4,300 State fans would - the last weekend in Nov. as far as that's concerned is usually a turkey. With stuff like this ... bodes well for the BTHC.

Re: MN @ MSU: tArrogance vs The Little Sister of Blue.

Shouldn't be hard to have atmosphere in a couple of hard-fought games that both go down to the wire. Both of them could easily have been OT games.

The odd part was the play was more intense than what is typically seen in non-conference games; this weekend felt like a WCHA opponent. This may indicate that it won't take very long to build up the rivalries against the non-wisconsin teams in the BTHC in two years.

It is interesting how the Gophers always seem to have that effect. Next thing you know, you'll be jacking up ticket prices when we come to town... if you haven't already of course.

I said it in the MN season thread, but MSU really impressed me tonight. They showed as much talent handling the puck as any team MN has played this year. They were also very good at turning the play around and creating opportunities on transition.

Last night I thought MN looked the better team and would have won if it had not been for the discrepancy in play by the goaltenders. Tonight was just a really fantastic college hockey game.

Credit to Anastos. Like many, I questioned his ability to take the reigns as a head coach. It's still early in his tenure, but from what I saw this weekend he was a solid choice.

michigan state earned those points based on their overall play. that is a difficult building to play in. reminded me of why i dont like watching the nhl (small rinks). itll be interesting to see how the results differ when michigan state plays on the gophers olympic sized sheet.

michigan state had a lot more speed up front than i expected. burned the gophers on a few goals this weekend. although i could have done without the intentional suckhole in the second half of tonights game. lost a couple points in my book there.

There is no doubt that the BTHC benefits MSU more than Minnesota. Regardless, these teams always play eachother close and are fun games to watch. Looking forward to seeing them more often.
