MN Gophers 2021 Offseason: Deja Vu all over again

Seemed like she could take some untimely penalties if I am remembering correctly.
Need someone to fill that role with Murphy away.

It would seem to me that there are two likely sources of measurable improvement this year: the revamped coaching staff ignites fires under the collective posteriors; or someone (Vetter) takes the goaltending to a level that it has not maintained in recent years. W/o Zum and Murphy, I don't anticipate that the offense will be that much more dynamic than it has been of late, unless some of the seniors play closer to their potential than we saw last year. I'm sure that Hemp, Huber, and the rest of the newcomers will contribute, but the veterans need to be more productive.

I also hope the "revamped coaching staff" develops and institutes cleaner breakout schemes so the team doesn't get trapped in their own end, forcing passes off the glass to no one in particular. Players must work to get open and the passes need to be tape-to-tape.

Correction...Upon further review of bc's stats last year Norcross had only 2 penalties so my memory is not of her going to the box more often than she should have. It is of someone else.

I suppose next you're going to ask for that second tape to be on the blade of a teammate's stick? What a concept. Flinging it to nobody in particular was much easier to perfect.

Quoting from Norcross's Instagram...

" I look forward to giving everything I have to my new teammates & coaches. I am so PUMPED & can’t wait to run through a wall for The University of Minnesota."

As long as that wall isn't an opposing goaltender this sounds promising.

I do realize I was asking a lot, maybe too much. Then again, when it comes to executing safe and effective breakouts from the defensive zone the last few years, the team has left much room for improvement. I hope the revamped coaching staff makes this a priority.

Norcross looks like a nice pickup, her numbers improved every year @ BC. Kinda surprised T3 totally brushed her off as easily replaceable in his blog, so maybe she's just a 4line player for you guys, LOL.

It will be fascinating to see how the new coaches and Frosty mesh, though the one is familiar with him. When Mike Eaves got 2 new assistants at the end of his tenure, they had no impact, but Eaves had cast the die with the talent level he had brought in. Would you call the 2 new assistants upgrades, downgrades or pushes?

So I tuned in the FB game for a short period last night and I was shocked to see the the new school colors the Fleckster picked out for the U. As much as I rip on the marron and gold/urine color, those were hideous.

To paraphrase a post I saw on a different site, "black is the new black" for current college students. Apparently having black alternate jerseys is the rage (just ask the OSU women's hockey team from a couple years back), to the point of becoming a recruiting tool.

Not saying that I agree. I could do without them.

To me a team's colors should always be the predominant colors of the uni's. The Muzzy OSU black looked ok, but it violates my viewpoint. The MN FB team's looked like garbage.
