MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

:(

Too bad Walsh played a helluva series and everyone will remember that last one....

Use this series for motivation Beavers. The Goofers in Bemidji for the second series of the year next season!

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

Credit BSU, they skated hard for 2 close nailbiting games, and Wall-sh was bigger than life in the net both nights. They blocked 15 shots tonight, played with a lead for much of this game and executed their trademark defensive game plan. Well done and nothing to hang their heads about as their season comes to an end.

Good teams find a way to win and this was a good comeback win for the Gophers tonight. A.J. Michealson had the momentum changing tying goal and Big Ben Marshall buried the GWG with less than 2 min to go. Nice to see this series end...four straight wins against a stubborn BSU team, that's ENOUGH Beaver for me.

Onward to the Friday night game at the last WCHA Final Five tournament for the Gophers. With the extreme parity in the league this season, it should be one hell of an entertaining F5 this year. I'm hoping for another lights out UND-Gopher rivalry matchup. Bring it on, baby.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

Much respect to Bemidji for the way they played this weekend. I don't think MN played their absolute best hockey, but they weren't playing uninspired or poorly either. Bemidji just played some great playoff hockey and forced MN to match that desperation or lose.

I'm glad the Gophers had this series instead of a UAA-type series. I think it's a very valuable preamble to the Final 5 and NCAAs.

Thought you were going to the bar!?!

:p:D

Not that you were the only one leaping from the I-35 bridge. I had more faith in you guys coming back in that game than most of the rest of you. Seems like every game that I watch of the Gophers, they wait to get going and come back in the end.

I did. I have one of those intelligent telephones. :)

Good point...and especially this comeback win tonight I think puts some wind in the Gophers sails going forward. Friday night at the X is going to be rabid, especially if it's UND.

Walsh will be back next year correct?

I gotta call you out. You acted like you gave up hope when it was 3-1.

I think everyone knows the Gophers have a lot of talent, but I am interested to see what happens when they don't get the PP's. They take advantage of them and I can't hate on them for that, but when it is postseason play, I don't think they will get as many as in the regular season. Interested to hear the thoughts of Gopher fans.

they went 1-2 last night and 1-4 in the series. 1 pp goal and 5 even strength goals. Bemidji had as many pp goals as MN this weekend.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

Ummm... yeah. One of the six goals in this series was on the PP. Try again.

Walsh will be back next year correct?

Yes he will be a junior next year. He will be backed up by Read Mimmack from Brained, who will be a red shirt freshman, and Mike
Bitzer of Moorhead, who Lou Nanne thought the Goofers should have got. He is at Lincoln this year.

The cupboard isn't bare for BSU. They do lose a lot of seniors (9), but here the last couple of weeks, the underclassmen have really stepped it up.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

BSU is very disciplined and really plays its game well.

Yes. Hard to believe they didn't win a few more games if they were able to put games like those together during the regular season.

Well played series by the beavers. very disciplined hockey. Gave the Gophs all they could handle.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

BSU did indeed play hard to get. Perseverance and hard work let the Gophers get 'em. Tip of the cap to BSU.

Now onto the F5.

They had 4-6 games in the bag, but screwed the pooch in the end.

That's it.

Going to the bar now.
Try again? At what? It's my observation, if you don't agree with it, that's fine.
Pretty big goal. Got the Gophers back in the game, if you thought they were out of it, which obviously you did. Last Friday, the game winner late in the 3rd period was a PPG. The win against Wisconsin, all the goals were on the power play. Possibly selective memory on my part, but the games I have watched recently it seems like they are getting alot of big goals on the PP.

Yes it was a big goal, but last I looked the PP is part of the game. And to reiterate, the gophers only had two power plays each game. Even in NCAA play I would expect a team like Minnesota to get 2 chances on the power play.
