MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

That was a pretty complete game by MN, except that they didn't do a good enough job of getting their noses dirty around the net. Walsh's rebound control made it even more difficult.

Anyone know what the word is on Warning?

I heard Lucia say he is week to week, was hurt in practice.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

Anyone who says we didn't run into a hot goalie tonight is smoking crack.

TWOCOX came up huge at times, too, but that's normal for him. ;)

Big win. Let's finish it tomorrow.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

Tonight's game was an exhibition in goaltending. Wilconx had some big saves after long stretches without a shot. The break-away he stopped in the 2nd period was only the 5th shot of the game, 2nd of the period, and he hadn't seen a shot in over 10 minutes.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

Nice try Beavers. I am expecting the Gophers to win 8-1 tomorrow night.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

I don't expect the Beavers to roll over do a doggy tomorrow night either. Keep in mind it's the last bus stop for BSU if they lose. It'll be more of the same D frame from them, and they'll most likely key in and shadow Bjugs, Rau, Haula, Condon, and Budish. Although Budish battled well tonight and has really elevated his game this year...definitely the most improved player on the Gophers this season. Warning has been red hot lately and his absence will definitely hurt. Push and shove, rebounds, garbage goals. But if we can get the separation goal 2+, I don't think BSU has the juice to match it and it's end of season.

Jesus has to stop saving everything. It's quite maddening.

It was good to see Wilcox stuff a beaver twice in one night.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

The Gophs overcame some bad puck luck and some good D. How many times were there where a rebound lay right in front and a Gopher either just missed it, barely got any of it, or was prevented from getting to one laying there by a Beaver defender?

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

I was very impressed with the defensive effort of the Beavs last night. It wasn't just Walsh. They kept the Gophs from getting many good looks, cleared rebounds and blocked a TON of shots and passes. Gophers never had any odd man rushes cause the Beavs worked their butts off to backcheck. As usual against a good goalie and team that plays that kind of defense, the Gophs need to get more traffic and try to generate rebounds for greasy goals. Not going to get many pretty ones - although Marshall's was very pretty.

Uggghhh... I wonder of Cory Ward saw that yawning net in his sleep last night?

The Beavers played the type of game they needed to on the big ice against the Goofers. Hopefully they can pull it off tonight!

agreed. I think the Beavers will keep it close until the third, just like last weekend. They really setup the pipe in front of the net nicely a rode there hot goalie. Serratore is a hell of a coach and game planed perfectly against a team that is clearly a cut above his team in every aspect. Garbage up the game a create chances with lucky bounces and long passes hoping for some quality chances. When they got the Gophers caught in a long shift they pounced. Despite all that though, Wilcox stoned them a could of times and they still loss. If the Gophers play just as good, I don't know how the Beavers will be able to play any better tonight than last night.

Agreed. Traffic and greasy goals. That is what was missing. Bemidji played a very good defensive game and a little grit is needed to break them down.

Well Bjugstad had a clear break away, and there were a couple odd man rushes that never amounted to much. And they did get some juicy rebounds where the goalie was out of position, but a combination of good D (tying up the Gopher player and in one case blocking a shot headed for an open net) and just bad bounces prevented the puck from going in. They could get a little more of that, but I disagree that they weren't getting some good pressure in front at times or that they never got an odd-man rush. They play a game like they did last night again and the odds are more pucks go in than last night.

The Gophers looked pretty good and chances are that more will go in. Me tinks will be a bit different at the X. Different crowd, different ice, different opponent. We will want to be better at finishing.

My top three Gopher Greasy Garbage Goal POTY nominees: 1) Rau, 2) Ambroz and 3) Budish.

Re: MN/BSU: WCHA Playoffs: Nothing To See Here, NO INNUENDO! Giggity.

With how this season has gone, I am shocked that the Gophers beat a team four games in a row.

Thought you were going to the bar!?!

:p:D

Not that you were the only one leaping from the I-35 bridge. I had more faith in you guys coming back in that game than most of the rest of you. Seems like every game that I watch of the Gophers, they wait to get going and come back in the end.
