MLB 2025: The Dodgers vs The Field

Bullpen day. Baseball has changed since I barely watched it some time ago.

Not much going on, so I'm watching the Tigers, and today is ballpen day- no real starter, just bullpen. First pitcher did 4 batters. And this is normal, since they are telling us that tomorrow is ballpen day for the White Sox.

Interesting.

The Rockies have won two in a row. They go from the worst start ever through 60 games to now having to lose 10 in a row to match the worst start through 70 games with the 1886 Washington Nationals. And have to go 1-9 to go match the Spiders.

Saw this making the rounds on social media...

Apparently my crew witnessed history on Saturday in our IHSA Regional Final of Joliet West vs Lincoln-Way East. LW-E pitcher, Jack Bauer, hit 103mph during his outing and is believed to be the hardest recorded HS pitch thrown (this was observed and confirmed by two MLB scouts at the game). I was at 3rd and it was noticeable the difference in velocity between Bauer and JW's kid, who was probably in the low 80s.

Gonna be interesting to see where the kid goes after he wraps up his HS career in the next week or two. He's already signed on with Scott Boras and will probably go in the Top 35 picks or so in the MLB Draft. He's committed to Virginia, but I'm sure that Boras and company would much rather see him take the cash and head off to Rookie Ball and start the bulk-up process.
