MLB 2025: The Dodgers vs The Field

Lot of questionable decisions from Hinch tonight.

Pulling Skubal
Pulling Melton
Pulling Flaherty at all
Pulling Flaherty for Khanle

But the biggest is keeping Keith in to bat all 15 innings when Jones has had the clutch hand lately. Or Perez who’s able to make contact.

Yes. All of this.

But honestly, the Tigers can't score more than two runs in a game so they deserve to lose.

And of course we will lose yet another all star pitcher to free agency because our owner is too cheap. Then bring in some new kids and hype them up to be the next big thing only to see them fail spectacularly because they're young and inexperienced. Bring on the lockout and a salary cap.

I did not understand pulling Skubal.

There should be a cap, but that will help the midrange teams. The penny pincher owner team fans, like Pittsburgh, will be screwed until there is a salary floor.

Luckily they have him one more year, but with Boras as his agent plus the FA market exploding my hopes of resigning are dimming. Something has to give though, RSNs are dying and there’s no way direct to consumer is bringing in as much as the old cable deals, so there’s less money out there.

Hinch is married to analytics and the 100 pitch limit. Usually I don’t question him because the track record has been there the last two years, but sometimes you just need a classic gut decision a la Jim Leyland 2006 starting Alexis Gomez. Your ace just retired 13 in a row, why would you take him out now?

Skubal was dealing and that’s why I thought the game was over. I thought he’d at least go into the seventh.

Congrats Ms don't let the Jays advance.

Great game and a crying shame (1) anyone had to lose, and (2) it wasn't the ALCS. My heart goes out to you, my friend. We've all been on the end of horrible losses but my god that one. My only point of comparison was losing in triple overtime to Wisconsin in the NC$$ QF.

I hate second guessing but yes. At least give him one out.

Maybe they can get a haul at the deadline. Were I Tiger fans I would mount a "sign him or sell" campaign and stop spending anything until they do. Empty the park and boycott the merch stores. Extortion is effective with guys whose only interest is squeezing dollars out of the fans. They are holding you hostage so flip the script.

We did it with the Wilpons.

But it took us 5 years.

Bryce Miller doing everything he can to stay alive and rest our pen. I had (have) written this one off as the price of game 5, but Miller is working so hard and effectively out there.
