MLB 2022: Playing Ball, But Is Anyone Still Watching?

I have to imagine the Twins being the 3rd team know the issue they are going to see in the physical already.

You’d hope.

I look at it this way: This offer is a lot like the Twins offer that lost to the Giants. Big difference is now the Twins can cut bait four years early if his foot has fallen off.

We were going to sign him to my beer league softball team for an after-game plate of nachos but we didn't think he was worth that long term cost.

So now the Twins are back to what they were last year essentially. Still no real improvements to this point. But somehow they will paint this as a winning offseason.

Get ready for the batting champion to be traded for the pitching everyone is (rightfully) screaming for.

I don't think Arraez is bringing back the pitching we actually need. Even if we package Kepler and someone else, I don't see us getting #1/2 type guy back. Unless we are going to give up prospects.

So he shorter deals somehow makes him able to pass the physical now? Yeah that doesn't sound fishy at all...

He didn’t fail a physical. The results gave the Giants and Mets concerns about such a long term contract, and tried to renegotiate.

Now, did the Giants and Mets offer something similar to what Twins offered and he figured he may as well come back, or did they drop to something lower, such as three or four year deals or something with a lower AAV? I’d be interested in knowing that. Not sure if we will.

I would think all sides would have an interest in keeping that sealed.

Anyone who would sign Correa without a club opt out is dangerously stupid or insane. I am just happy to see the Mets are, in this instance, neither.
