Wes Ferrell. His 162-game season average works out to 11 61 .280/.351/.446. He had over 200 career RBI and a lifetime batting WAR of 11.

Ferrell might have been a better hitter than pitcher. I doubt he would have contended for a Cy Young had the award been around during his career but he may have gotten a few top-5 votes in a couple of his best years. He was a workhorse for sure on the mound.

Not liking a sports personality (not named vin scully) is usually the sign of a well-adjusted person.

I'm fine with what he's trying to do, he's just doing it as well as a relative clever high school kid.

Don't people have to be any good at something to get a big aud-- never mind.

So is he, like, trying to act cooler than everyone by not liking what they like?

Why does it make you people so nervous that not everybody likes Ow My Balls? I'm fine with you people not liking Gay Art Deco Diplomats Eating Pudding. It doesn't threaten me.

Because you use d-bag metaphors like “relative clever high school kid” or “Ow My Balls” instead of something like “I don’t understand the appeal of this person”.

Fair-ish.

But I do understand the appeal of that kind of podcast. I've heard ones that are done well.

I don't say comedians suck; I've seen Patrice O'Neal. I say Dennis Leary sucks.

The problem with your criticism of Ow my balls is that Ow My Balls is a perfect treatment of what being described.

I saw that today from Friedman. Insane. I can't even fathom trying to hit that

Turns out you can argue whether or not it is off-speed. If you pause at the right time you can see him using a two-seam fastball grip. This is actually his hybrid pitch he calls a "splinker", a combo of a sinker (not off-speed) and a splitter.

Regardless, 100 mph with nearly 12 inches of break down and away? Forget it.
