John Smoltz mentioned that. He said you are taught if you aren't going to get the runner, throw it at him for that very reason -- you may get the interference call.
I did not know that no team has ever won 4 road games in the World Series.
And Houston subbed a pitcher, which also changes the course. If the call were reversed, you'd have to allow the erasure of Hou's move.
And road teams have never won 6 in MLB, NHL, or NBA.
Did the commentators mention later on that the call was not reviewable (which does make sense)? If so, why did it take them that long to tell the umpires we can't review the call?
