What the hell are you guys doing over there at Fenway? Are the Pats playing the Seahawks, or is there an actual baseball game going on this evening?

Same pitching match up as last Saturday in Seattle. That game ended 1 - 0.

Steven Wright gave up 10 earned runs and got a no decision.

Ladies and gentlemen, your Florida Marlins.

You would think at some point the “Marlins Way” becomes a bit more professional and humane and Derek Jeter’s group starts showing compassion. Right after the recent amateur draft, vice president of player development and scouting Gary Denbo fired a handful of amateur cross-checker scouts who had helped evaluate draftees. This was after scout Marty Scott was told in October that he was fired while in the hospital to remove a cancerous tumor in his colon and having tests for a kidney transplant. This was after the Marlins fired franchise icons Andre Dawson, Tony Perez, and Jeff Conine as special assistants. They also pulled the credentials of a radio host who had been critical of the team. Five employees in the team’s analytical department also quit. First impressions of this Jeter-led organization have not been positive, raising eyebrows around the game and offering a lesson in how not to do things.

Jeter is a typical Fortune 500 CEO -- a pretty face hired to grip & grin. He hasn't a clue about anything going on under the hood.

Edwin Jackson tied Octavio Dotel's record today for most teams played for in a career as he pitched pretty well in his debut for the A's, his 13th team. Not bad for the team's #12 starting pitcher...

Oh...and the A's came from behind to beat the Tigers...and Blake Treinen remains a cheat code.

Liked this article:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...bad-baseball-attendance-strikeouts/718162002/

The sentence that caught my eye was:

The average time between balls put in play, according to "Sports Illustrated," is a staggering 3 minutes, 45 seconds.

That’s overstating the (dearth of) action some, because it’s not counting a home run as a “ball put in play,” but on the other hand, it counts a routine grounder to the second baseman. Now I understand a bit better why I never watch a game without doing something on my tablet, only looking up when the announcers voice rises.

Good grief. If you eat that, you're going to be a diabetic by morning.

The A's MLB-record streak for consecutive road games with a home run ends at 27, but Bassitt, Petit, and Trivino combine for a 3-hit shutout to beat the Tigers. Love this team.

Game 3 of the CWS tonight. Lot of drama in last nights game as O St tied the series.

Woo Pig Sooie.
