Has there ever been a 164? Also, there are too many 163s nowadays.
There's been a 165. The Dodgers and Giants played in a 3-game playoff in 1962 to decide the NL pennant. They all counted as regular season games, and Maury Wills played in all 165. Incidentally, that was the year he won the NL MVP.
EDIT: That was the last of the 4 best-of-three playoffs the NL had. Shortly afterwards, they adopted the single-elimination playoff that the AL already had in place.
46, 51, 62 and???
Mauer caught one last time for the twins. He doesn’t do that unless he’s retiring.![]()
All 4 teams in contention very comfortably handling business this afternoon.
Nice thing about game 163s - they count as a regular season game.
Yelich now needs a dinger to earn the triple crown. He already has a RBI.
(Assuming Baez is quiet)
That's how Guidry got his 25th win in 1978, going 25-3 for the season.
Grrrrrrr.
Bucky F. Dent!!!!
