Yea, that a great example of how not to play baseball... Couldn't happen to a better bunch :p

Yankees press reported 52 minutes. But who's counting? Oh, I am. Why? Because it's freaking cold here.

Weird. Bernie Williams (NYY) never retired. Hasn't played since 2006. He will retire now though.

Another Yankees tidbit, former Yankees Center fielder Bernie Williams only just announced his retirement this week. He plans on retiring tomorrow, April 24th, 2015.
Upon hearing this, former Yankees Right Fielder Paul O’Neil realized he had never filed for retirement either, and announced his as well.
Williams has not played since 2006 and O’Neil since 2001.

I was thinking the exact same thing. This is going to bite them in the butt really soon if it continues.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

Apparently Josh Hamilton is about to be traded back to the Rangers.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

Might as well hand St. Louis the championship right now.

Their starting rotation could be Bob Wickman, a pitcher who needs Tommy Johns, a pitching machine, a fan from the bleachers and the kid from Rookie of the Year, and they'd still win.

659 for A-Rod. One shy of Willie Mays.

Seems to be doing it under the cover of darkness. I wonder what the coverage will be like as/if he approaches Ruth, Aaron or Bonds. At the pace he's on now Ruth is within reach next season but Aaron and Bonds would still be a couple of years off. Lately I've been wondering if all the controversy over PHDs since the late 90s is the sole reason for the seeming lack of interest in milestone HRs or if there are other societal factors weighing in. If Bonds had been clean -- or we were still naive to believe the sport was clean -- would his pursuit of Aaron been covered like Aaron's of Ruth's was.

Phillies are on their way to St. Louis. Maybe Cole Hamels doesn't leave town with the team after the series...

I did not think Wainwright's diagnosis was official yet.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

Josh Hamilton to the Rangers for either Cash or PTBNL is official.

Angels are paying nearly all of his remaining contract value. So this was not a baseball personnel move. It was a we don't want this person around move.
