MLB 2015-16: Grays Sports Almanac Edition

Re: MLB 2015-16: Grays Sports Almanac Edition

I think a lot of those dumbasses lost their vote in last year's purge.

The Astrodome is still standing?

<strike>No. It's been gone for a few years. The documentary I watched was before it was imploded.</strike>

Epic fail. My bad.

Apparently it is still standing.

Good. Hopefully they'll use the cover to fire all the inane Barbie dolls that infest their network. Goodbye Samantha Ponder, Charissa Thompson, Jenn Brown... there's plenty of jobs at the local strip club.

Mendoza was awesome last year the two times I heard her. She was at least five times smarter than anybody else in the booth (I know, a low bar).

Funny how you can find great women sports announcers when you don't use a bikini contest to interview them.

Re: MLB 2015-16: Grays Sports Almanac Edition

Aaron Boone also added, which means Kruk is gone. I won't miss him. Not sure I've heard Boone do any color, but he's gotta be better than Kruk, right? Mendoza definitely is.

cue the cavemen on social media....

Burns, OR? I've been to Burns as we had a research station there. Middle of gawd freeking nowhere, but great people!

I only made it to Pendleton, which is rush hour Manhattan compared to Burns. The three things I would say about Eastern Oregon are:

1. The high desert is beautiful.
2. The people are somewhat less racist than Western Idahoans
3. I could not wait to get the hell out of there.

Re: MLB 2015-16: Grays Sports Almanac Edition

I wonder if the Cespedes offer comes off the table, or they go for both.

*Chris Davis 1B/OF, Orioles, 7-Years, $161 million
^Yoenis Cespedes, OF, Orioles, 5-Years, $90 million

^reported offer
*reported as accepted

Allegedly Cespedes' two main suitors were the O's and Mets. This certainly doesn't hurt the Mets' chances, anyway. Alderson appears to be saying our offer is what it is and if Ces can beat it with another team vaya con Dios, otherwise our door is always open.

AAV is less an issue than duration. Sandy seems to be scrupulously clearing the decks for when the fab Five start to roll off arb: 2017 Wheeler, 2018 Harvey, 2019 Thor, ... it adds up. Though I think we may let Harvey go (a mistake IMHO).
