The Royals have figured out they're not getting paid by the inning.

Shields is done. He's been lucky so far this game. I know they are trying to get 6 out of him. But this is painful to watch.

Don't bother hitting anything in the direction of Lorenzo Cain. He'll just catch it anyway.

Had the Brewers held on to the division, I imagine this Tigers collapse would have been identical for the Brewers. What an amazing disappearing act by the Tigers offense and their bullpen.

The brewers are in the playoffs if you take all the guys on playoff rosters that came up as brewers. But I guess you could say that about every team.

Well, that's 6 out of Shields. His defense bailed him out tonight.

I noticed.

*sobs uncontrollably*

I'll give credit where credit is due. I don't like Buck Showalter, but putting the winning run on base -- even with a sinkerball pitcher -- was a gutsy move, and it sure makes him look smart.

Showalter is an excellent manager...if you only need him for 2-3 years. From what I understand, he grinds on his team quite quickly.

And I didn't expect the Royals to do this.

Why are Angels / Royals games always 4.5 hours, and always on tv. I'm sick of these networks only showing a few teams!

Did anyone else catch that they played the theme from Angels in the Outfield in Kauffman after Moustakas' home run?

Dude, no.

See: Twins, Minnesota

Break open an 8-2 game?

Not the Mets, that's for sure.

So far, the only hit Josh Hamilton has this series is when he connected with Salvador Perez's face.

That isn't water in the fountains at Kauffman Stadium. Those are the tears of Angels fans.
