In a perfect world, ESPN and Fox would not televise the Yankees vs Red Sox for a season. The world would not come to an end.

ESPN is unwatchable anyway, and if there's one thing that's irrelevant to my life it's blackouts on local media for Yankee-Red Sox games.

It looks like both teams will be in the toilet for a while, so the problem may take care of itself.

KC has clinched.

If the baseball gods really want to be vengeful, they'll have Oakland lose out, Seattle win out, and have Seattle win the play-in.

We're not winning out. One of the rules of Seattle baseball is whenever we absolutely need to beat Los Angeles/California/Anaheim/Los Angeles, we lose horribly.

Oh yeah. This holds true in every sport. The Sounders' record against the Galaxy is horrible. The Seahawks against the Raiders when they were in LA was terrible too.

Yes it is. I love sports and I love the pro teams I root for, but there is no way that tax payers should ever be held hostage by billionaire franchise owners. What the owners of the Eagles and Phillies did to the citizens of Philadelphia was shameful, and sadly there are far worse tales (I'm looking at you Miami and Colorado, for just a couple of examples) of franchise owners fleecing taxpayers who's only remedy came after the fact if they wanted to bother recalling politicians that sold them down the river. When will people realize there is no economic justification for giving these hucksters anything they want in exchange for them keeping their teams in your town. As soon as the stadiums are built, whatever good jobs generated in the construction phase disappear and are replaced by nothing but more part time no benefit ones. Let billionaires like Moreno pay for the construction of their n palaces.

Stupid Royals. All we're trying to do is pay you back for 2006. Morans.

Will Rodney do a Rodney? Stay tuned

2 out score tied top 9 man on 1st.

EDIT: Nope

What happens if Tigers and Royals tie and Oakland and Seattle tie? How many playoff games?

1-1, Bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, season on the line! Strikeout, strikeout, line out. Your Seattle Mariners!

edit: And they wonder why the MLS team out draws them regularly...

5 LOB in extras for the M's. They're looking like the Red Sox.

Like most people, I tend to ignore the Ms until a crucial game like this and then it's like "oh right, Mariners. SMH".

This team couldn't score in a women's prison with a briefcase full of pardons.
