Wednesday should be a fun day... Gonna try and do a double between the Cardinals/Brewers game in the afternoon, then the BoSox/White Sox game in the evening... On paper, this is doable... Just worried about how much traffic is going to get involved...

Any tips for a Miller Park 1st-timer?

Tailgate. Skip the in-park food. The brats were the same ones they sold at the Metrodome. Honestly.

Everyone talks about the brats (which are good, especially with the sauce) but the beef brisket is the best thing in the park, IMO. Miller Park has some of the best ballpark food around. Tailgate for the experience. Roof is almost always closed in April, so no worries about weather. I prefer club level seats - lots of leg room. Tickets shouldn't be a problem, although I think some schools have spring break this week (Cardinals always draw well, too).

When I found out the brats in Miller were the same brats that were sold in the Metrodome, I was deflated like a Teflon roof with 12" of snow on it.

Forget about the type of brats served, the stadium sauce is where it's at. ;)

Honestly, some of the specialty stands have a great menu. Check out the Brewers Blog on MLB (http://brewers.mlblogs.com) for what their serving (seems to change per opponent).

Get there early and enjoy tailgating. Don't forget to mix in a water. Gates open two hours ahead of time of you want to watch the opponent take batting practice.

No bad seats, but as Jen said the club level is nicer.

Lots to see around the stadium too. They have a lot of historical items scattered around the stadium

Speaking of, it'd been a couple years since I've looked for it, but is the Milwaukee Braves artifacts still in the right field corner?

Sweet! All-Star Game tickets have been ordered!!

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

Kirk Gibson might soon be the first manager to get fired this season.

Hank Aaron suggests that racism is alive and well even though it doesn't wear a KKK hood anymore, and Braves receive deluge of racist hate mail... thereby proving him exactly right. (I debated whether to post this in Nice Planet or here). How many times does the guy need to go through this? Some people are actually saying they're not going to Braves games until he's fired. Good luck with that one.

edit: good article from the Boston Globe

The God Bless America tradition on Sunday afternoons has run its course imo. Annoying and a downer compared to Take Me Out.

Doesn't help that it's usually some female opera singer. Makes me cringe.

PS The one today from the Red Sox/Brewers game was wretched. My cat ran for the basement.

Mrs Jon and I were at that game. Yes. This needs to end. Do you have any pamphlets you can send?

Well done, Angels. $4.50 for a 16 oz beer at a baseball game? Doesn't get much better than that these days.

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

The Dodgers also have a fairly low $/oz. How is it that LA has some of the cheapest beer in the league?

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

Also funny:
Busch: $0.56/oz
Miller: $0.38/oz
Coors: $0.38/oz

:D

The media needs to slow their roll on the Tanaka hype. It's been 3 games!

So, it looks like I'm going to the Giants-Reds game at AT&T Park Friday. I know nothing about the Giants. Give me some names of players you think are worthy of my following. Are they good? Are the Reds?
