MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Hammer

We'll be back.
You know, we probably should have a new '12 thread before Opening Day.

Bryce Harper sent to AAA today.

I know it's here; what I want to know is, is it over yet?

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

It's going to be a three way race for the worst team between the Mets, Twins and Mariners.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Congrats to the 2012 World Champion Detroit Tigers!

Hear that? That's the sound of Prince Fielder's kneecaps shattering, Miguel Cabrera blowing another grounder at 3rd, Brandon Inge slitting his wrists, and Gerald Laird batting .160.

How do the Pirates not already own this record?

I believe I heard that stat on ESPN. I guess I should check other sources first. But...either way. First/second/Thirty...losing 300 in 3 years is horrible.

Edit: John Russell, fired in 2010 tied a franchise record with 299 losses in a three year period.

Edit 2:Tigers seem to have accomplished this feat 2002-2004 (186-300).

The phillies lost 100 or more games 5 straight seasons from 1938 to 1942 and averaged over 100 losses for 11 straight seasons from 1935 to 1945.

Nats announce that Strasburg to be their Opening Day starter. In other shocking news, the Watergate Hotel announced they were still the site of the infamous break-in in 1972.

If you had a guess, which would be your choice for biggest surprise and biggest bust? Do it for team, player, pitcher.

For pitcher, I'm going to guess Joba Chamberlain.
