MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

I think I saw that the appeal was overturned last night.

It's not a big deal to me. From what I see, it looks more like a show to the players that they're standing up for their own. *shrug*

Meh, the Tigers appealed to have a hit ruled an error to take two earned runs off of Verlander's performance in Cincy. Also got denied. This probably happens quite a bit.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

So I heard Reusse (a former alcoholic to those who weren't aware) talking about Hamilton's hospital visit. He said something to the effect of: "Josh Hamilton was hospitalized with an intestinal virus and will be monitored overnight. You know, Mackey, I remember I had quite a few of those 'intestinal viruses' back in my hayday." As soon as I heard hospital, that's the first thing I thought too.

Sort of like "exhaustion" with media stars....

If this was another relapse, these benders are going to cost him some serious cash.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

I think that one he had this past offseason already cost him at least $100 mil off of his next contract.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Miguel Cabrara hits a "homerun" that is embarrassing by Class D/E (beer league) softball standards:http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-b...n-miguel-cabrera-grounder-003737569--mlb.html
I love this paragraph...

But perhaps the most interesting part of the whole fiasco is that Cabrera — who hit a more conventional home run earlier in the game — didn't even break out of the batter's box until he saw pitcher Christian Friedrich misplay the ball. He was completely prepared to give 25% effort down the line, if that, until the Rockies forced him to give about 90%. And even 90% was good enough as Colorado's defense melted down all around him.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Seemed likely once all the evidence was cross examined as being kept in beer cans and fed ex boxes. Yeah, that seems like a pure sample.

Maybe I've been watching too much Law & Order, but I'm surprised that was even allowed into evidence.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Roger Clemens has been acquitted of all charges.
So that makes the Feds what, like 0 for the last 97 on perjury prosecutions? Cracks me up.

When it comes to the criminal justice system, federal prosecutors are it. They're the frickin' mounties. They always get their man.

Except in perjury trials. It goes to show you that it is almost impossible to convict someone of perjury, yet the Feds keep tilting at that windmill. It's like catnip for the Feds. They can't resist.

No, no, no.

When they do that you give 'em the morning drive time on KFAN. They're sitting on a gold mine here.
