MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Fox calling their Saturday night games Baseball Night in America feels like a ripoff of Hockey Night in Canada.

They aren't smart enough to rip that off. It's probably a rip off of Football Night in America on NBC. Which of course is probably a rip off of HNIC. :D

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

122 pitches thru 8, on his shoulder. And he's due up 3rd in the order.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Johan Santana is having a very special day through 8.

HE'S TALKING ABOUT A NO HITTER.
A NO HITTER.
DO YOU HEAR ME, BASEBALL GODS?
NOW IT CAN'T HAPPEN.

-Sincerely, a Cardinals fan.

EDIT: The Cards TV announcers are doing well enough for me. Also, apparently we haven't been held to no hits in 22 years.
EDIT #2: Didn't work. Congratulations to Santana and the Mets.

It would be sad funny if Point of Rock, MD is without power tonight.

Well there goes that answer to the trivia question.....

Congrats Johan.

Not MLB, and will probably get lost in the Johan craziness, but Kent State-Kentucky is now in the 20th inning in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament. The only scoring in extras was each team putting up a run in the 18th. Valpo and Purdue still have to play after this, not sure if they'll postpone til tomorrow morning or play into the night. Also not sure if there's a curfew for NCAA.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Interesting fact:

Phil Humber was part of the trade that sent Johan Santana to the Mets.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Oh, boy. Interesting call in Santana's no-no, on a line drive down the 3rd base line in the 6th. The ball hit chalk past 3rd base. The replay confirms it.

Also in NCAA play tonight, Florida no-hit Bethune Cookman 4-0.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Kent State ended up winning in 21 innings 7-6. Purdue-Valpo didn't start until 11:35. MSU is in the tournament for the first time in 33 years but lost to Pepperdine today. Still have at least one more game tomorrow against Fresno. If I remember right Florida is the #1 team in the nation.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

The best part about the trade is this the only moment he contributed to your team.
Huh, that's weird, I could swear he made 88 mostly very good starts between 2008 and 2010.
