Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Hard to blame manuel for his offense disappearing. Not sure what changes they make since they already added pence. That's why they play the games! Go brewers and hope the AL goes 7

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Something tells me the ratings for the two LCS and the WS are going to be less than stellar. Still, I'm tickled there will be no Yankee or Philly representation this year.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Holy crap. Never in a million years did I think the Cards would dump the Phillies.
The playoffs are a crapshoot, especially in a 5 game series, and you can't deny the Cardinals came into the playoffs playing as well or better than most of the rest of the field. I was not surprised at all. We could well end up seeing a rematch of 2006.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

I've long thought the first round should be a best of 7.

I don't know. As a Phillies fan I don't know if I could have taken another 1 or 2 games watching these guys go down 1-2-3. How many innings in games 2-4 did they do that? 25? Painful. It is amazing how different post season baseball is from regular season baseball. The Phils approached too many innings like they believed there were another 50 games left in the season.

I was not surprised either, and this is exactly why I didn't want the Brewers to play the Cardinals. They hate each other, the Cardinals are hot, and the off-field drama has already started before the first game.

I wasn't sure what you meant by "off field drama" so I went to ESPN.com and saw some stories. Wow. This could be an interesting series.

While on the site, I saw that Ryan Howard tore his achilles tendon on that last out of the NLDS. That has to suck! Poor guy. It takes a long time to recover from that.

I couldn't believe some of the trash talk that's already started between the two clubs. I know we had quite the regular season battle, and there were a lot of insults thrown back and forth, but I thought it was mostly a baseball-centric, who's-the-better-team rivalry. Guess I was wrong.

I feel awful about Howard, that's terrible. I really hope that they're wrong with their predictions, and he's healed and ready to play when the season starts next spring.
