Minnesotans whining about the shutdown

Re: Minnesotans whining about the shutdown

Ok, that makes complete sense. So now my question is: Would a highway like 65, north of 694, which is a major highway ahve its maintenance transferred to the local level or is that covered by MN DOT? (Since this is more interesting than beating the tax dead horse, I'll keep going with it)

I am not sure about 65. I would believe it is MnDOT though. MN-242 was covered my MnDOT through Lino, Blaine, and CR. They then said "screw this crap" and dropped it, turning it into Anoka County 14 (Main Street in Anoka and CR). Now the cities take care of it inside their borders.

It would still be covered my MnDOT. Usually things getting transferred to the local level is for when state "highways" have essentially been replaced by newer roads, and function more as city streets. For example, 55 used to follow city streets through downtown Minneapolis. Those city streets have been transferred to local maintenance, and now 55 runs concurrent with I-94 around the southwest end of the downtown.

You're free to move to that libertarian paradise in Rwanda if you want to. I hear they tax everyone equally.

I would have to double check, but I believe no income tax is actually part of the platform.

Speaking of, when the heck are the going to finish all that work on CR 14?

Yeah, I know what you mean. Makes getting to a friend's or my grandparent's place a nightmare. I'm glad I don't live right in that area any more. That project is a joke to be taking this long.

I don't even know what they are doing anymore. It doesn't affect me too much I suppose. I just have to take a left off of Hanson onto 121st, which turns into Shenandoah and crosses 14. I am glad they left that crossing there.
