Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

So, I'm all for a good soaking rain, but this is ridiculous. My sump has been running once every two to three minutes and I have a river running through my backyard.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Mackinaw Island just recently had their ice bridge break up, and last friday the first boat of the year made it to their docks. Shepler's is planning on starting passenger service to the Island on Tuesday with their freight boat. I would imagine that the Arnold Line doesn't plan on putting any of its catamarans in the water anytime soon, meaning its the old ferry boats to the island for a while.

The Sacre Blue pulls up to the Mackinaw Island dock.

Weather held out long enough for skydiving on Saturday. Jumped through a cloud full of ice particles. Small ice chunks hitting you in the face while falling over 100mph is not a pleasant experience.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

saw a tweet where the weather will be below average for the coming weeks.

Hey, look at that, it's raining hard right now. I was starting to worry that we might not break that drought around here.

It was literally block by block on the drive home. Nothing, then downpour, then nothing, then ALL THE HAIL, then nothing. It was weird.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Weather websites. are. the. worst.

I started using weather.com or the weather channels website. They are so laden with ads they can hardly launch...and then it just shows one temperature for just today. You need to click like 3 times before you get hourly and/or a forecast. A friend recommended accuweather. I have used them for some time, but they are no better. They have ads all over the place...today a screen wide ad for antihistamine came up and in trying to click past it..it got me.

Please...help. Anyone have a good weather site that shows today's weather by hour and the weather forecast on the front page? Thanks

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

wunderground is good, although it has changed for the worse since The Weather Channel bought them. The appearance and user-friendliness has gone to ****. BUT, it's still easy to find hourly forecasts and such for the day. I use it to see if I can drop the top on my Jeep for the day. Very reliable.

Kinda a round about way, but I have my town's page on TWC.com saved in my web history... When Mozilla does the auto complete thing for the web address, it's the 1st result.. It has current conditions, that days forecast and a still of the current radar on there... 5/10 day forecasts, hourly, radar/sattelite, and everything else I use is just a single click away... It works for me... I never have to go through the homepage...

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

If you're looking for something basic, and like Joe Friday, want just the facts, then weather.gov will fit your needs. You will get absolutely no frills, but it gives you the information to know how the next few days will look.

You know...I still prefer it over TWC. I don't think it's that bad.
