Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

But I thought this crappy weather makes you appreciate the 17 nice days a year MN gets. AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

I'll go enjoy today and the rest of the year where the weather is perfect almost daily.
The weather isn't worth having to live in the ****hole of California.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

yeah, the sunlight reflecting up off the snow can really fool people...can even get sunburn in the shade that way!

Enjoy your earthquakes and 6.00 dollar a gallon gas. :D

How are those tolling brown outs and black outs treating you left coasters these days?

Minnesotans arguing that their state is better than California.

Hilarious.

I'd rather live in Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, etc before California as well. Its not just Minnesota, I have no interest whatsoever in even visiting California, much less living there.

I might visit CA some day, but I'd never want to live there. Other than the weather, they've nothing to offer the likes of me.

Some 10 years ago, a buddy of mine had a business trip in the LA area. He stopped into a convenience store, bought a 20oz Coke and a standard Snickers bar. $4. That was 10 years ago. That would have been $2 around here back in those days, and that's at vending machine prices.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

I could definitely see myself in Northern California.

Absolutely. Either inland or along the coast all the way down to Santa Barbara.

Plus in a few hours you can get to a warm weather beach.

Yeah, I could see myself there and I actually really like where I am now.

If it were just the land I would agree, unfortunately there are these people that come along with it. It's gotten even worse than when I lived there back in the 80's.

I still dream of being a surfer... :o:)

It's not even that price now here. And LA isn't CA. It's like me judging MN based on St. Cloud.

I understand your trepidation, there are minorities here.

One guy gets it.

I know the Midwest is a little behind the times, but that was about 10 years ago when those problems were around.

San Diego really doesn't get bad earthquakes, a 5.9 is the biggest its ever felt. Which would do pretty much no damage these days. And gas is like 3.75. Enjoy your tornadoes, straight line winds, blizzards, 100 degree temps with tropical dewpoints, mosquitoes, and gnats.

Where'd you live? The people of San Diego are just as nice as those in MPLS (actually, they're legit nice, not passive aggressive MN "nice").

Lived in Oakland, worked in San Francisco. It's more the folks in Sacramento who bother me though....

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Is it that inconceivable there are those of us that live here, and despite traveling all across the US and even to several different countries, still enjoy it? ;)

Now my wife and I will end up in Thailand at least half the year eventually, but I love where I live.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Rimbaud, if you love where you live that's great - I would never begrudge your choices nor criticize the area. Is it that inconceivable there are those of us that live here, and despite traveling all across the US and even to several different countries, and still enjoy it? This. Someday I'll either end up in Duluth and/or CO, but for now? Love where I live. It'd take a lot for me to move (already nixed a possible Northern CA relo, flat out turned down a Chi-town and SC relo).

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

I plan on living in Minnesota the rest of my life unless a job forces me to move. It's just too great of a state.

Add the option of "the right woman," and you are pretty much in the same camp. My CO/Duluth are retirement plans, right now.
