Re: Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather III: Storm's a comin'

Whoa, that's too soon to need a rebuild...

Do you think I should just try to put in some new gas, a couple shots of carburetor cleaner and see what happens?

Honestly, I'm not much of a small engine guy, but I thought that if you allow your gas to go bad that it will gum up the carburetor and thus needing the attention/re-build.

I suppose it could. If it were mine, I would try to drain the gas, dump in new, and see if it starts. I would probably run it with Seafoam in the gas. Honestly, gas these days is so high quality that you really don't see the terrible problems that used to plague small engines.

The western vortex looks a bit like Texas.

That's why the Vikings are happy to be back under a roof, because that will be warmer there than we will be here.

Re: Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather III: Storm's a comin'

-48 wind chill on Saturday night, Sunday morning

About as cold as I remember it being.

Its not all gloom and doom. It warms up tomorrow. Just long enough to dump a half a foot of snow before sending is to absolute zero.

Re: Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather III: Storm's a comin'

I really do miss snow even during those occasions when it was followed by -F temps.

I saw -18F on the car outside temp monitor on Tuesday morning driving in southeastern ND.
Last night KFYR-AM (Bismarck) was saying -30F in Bismarck on Saturday morning.

Good info for those of you with light or moderate frost on your windshields, this might work.

My favorite part of the video is when the the weatherman tries to explain the freezing point of isopropyl alcohol.

Re: Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather III: Storm's a comin'

About .25" of ice down here in 301 land. It will hit 50 this PM, so I am not planning to do a darn thing about it.

Yeah, but people actually live here.

Re: Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather III: Storm's a comin'

Just looking forward to Tuesday when we get all the way up to the mid-30s. Gonna go for a swim.

Re: Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather III: Storm's a comin'

Looking at -20 wind chills Fri am and then near 50 on Sun.
Wasn't all that bad. Low was 5 when I got up, -15 wind chill. Bundled up and walked to work. Only got 4 in of snow today then turned to rain. Mid 50's tomorrow.

Re: Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather III: Storm's a comin'

Headed over to St Paul for a get-together. The outside lanes of the highways were a little tight, the plows haven't completely cleared them yet. Some icy patches too. On the way home tonight (about 11pm) saw a few spinouts, I'm guessing black ice; it is -16 currently.

Went out for a smoke earlier in the night, it was about -3, slight breeze, but it actually wasn't that bad. Didn't feel really chilly, surprisingly.

It is supposedly -13 in North MPLS right now. Same deal. It feels cold, no doubt. But I was expecting worse.
